I'm torn on Mexico here at the Confed Cup. Them doing well reflects well for CONCACAF on the world stage, and likely will have them retain their coach. But still...it's Mexico. I can't help but laugh at Brazil dismantling them.
With Costa Rica's win, the US now needs only 3 points to assure at worst a tie for 3rd in qualifying. And if the 3 points is against someone other than Jamaica, they finish no worse than 3rd.
AFC qualifying just about done now. Japan, Australia, South Korea and Iran qualify. Uzbekistan and Jordan will playoff for the right to lose to Uruguay/some other CONMEBOL country.
Love WC qualifying. Wild ending to Uzbekistan-Qatar today, as when Iran beat South Korea, Uzbekistan needed to make up a 6 goal differential on SK in the last 30 minutes of their match to qualify over them, and thus needed 7 goals in the last 30 minutes to qualify. They got 5.
Daily substitutions and waivers go. Maybe now the drama can be limited to the outcome of the matchups. Three teams have already surpassed their win totals from last year.
Yeah, the game was tight in OT, and the only time Boston had a distinct advantage in chances were in the 1st period and 1st OT. Even then, it was fairly close. In the 2nd and 3rd periods, though, the Hawks outchanced the Bruins something like 20-8.
Who is that guy? He seems pretty cool. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-eUYgGL9OHSU/UYvy8j5fGoI/AAAAAAAAALQ/ZLRY8pYH-YY/s320/Neil+deGrasse+Tyson+Orlando+September+2013+Winter+Park+Institute+Rollins+College+Free.png
C - Castillo (since it has to be based on what we already have) 1B - Rizzo 2B - Alcantara 3B - Baez SS - Castro LF - Soler/Bryant CF - Almora RF - Bryant/Soler SP - Samardzija You forgot Vogelbach for when the NL adopts the DH in 2015.
Looking at the remaining non-Mexico games: USA v HON (USA W) CR v PAN (CR W) CR v USA (D) PAN v JAM (PAN W) HON v PAN (HON W) JAM v CR (D) HON v CR (HON W) USA v JAM (USA W) JAM v HON (D) PAN v USA (D) Those results would leave the standings: USA 18 HON 14 CR 13 PAN 10 JAM 4 Mexico has roadies @ USA and CR, with home ties against HON and PAN. If they lose the roadies, that automatically puts 1st or 2nd out of reach for Mexico, and if they couldn't beat Honduras at home, they'd be looking at 4th at best and hoping the USMNT plays for a draw at Panama.
