  1. Javy PH for Bryant and really hit it hard, just right at Jay.
  2. Hail Szczur! http://buzzdixon.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/life_of_brian_1358087c.jpg
  3. Not out of the NL East race yet, just wild card.
  4. Kid's already a star. http://s3-media2.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/_ON1Gu_gOaXFIs6OtQKjww/ls.jpg
  5. I see no reason to take Haren out of the game. Twitter said he was warming up. Meh, it's hard to imagine a lower pressure environment to debut in, but it's not like there's a reason to save Haren's arm at this point.
  6. I see no reason to take Haren out of the game.
  7. If the Cardinals play .500 for all their remaining non-Cubs games, they'll have won 97 games, not counting the 5 remaining against the Cubs. The Cubs have played at a .653 pace since the all-star break. If they continue that pace for their remaining non-Cardinal games, they'll have won 93 games. Not including the 5 remaining against the Cardinals. I think you can fill in the blanks here. Win the play in game and I like our chances in a five game series against these guys. I don't think you filled in the right blanks there.
  8. IF ? Sure, technically the game isn't over yet so the odds aren't calculated yet.
  9. Finally this K Bryant bum joins the hit party.
  10. If the Cubs win this game, they'll have a greater chance of winning the division than they will of not making the playoffs at all.
  11. This is a perfect day for a strike thrower to eat some innings. With Hendricks tomorrow there's a chance we'll have to cash those in soon. That's on the Cubs for throwing Hendricks on one day rest.
  12. but maybe, just maybe, we can win 20% of haren and hendricks starts the rest of the way ...but...they won the Hendricks start yesterday after Hendricks threw 5 innings of 1 run ball (and the Cubs PH for him in the 5th because they're not stupid like Matt Williams).
  13. I really want that wildcard game in PIttsburgh, between the Cards and Pirates.
  14. Wasn't the loss the rain delay game?
  15. Cubs can mathematically eliminate the Phillies from wild card contention with a win today.
  16. Flying to PIttsburgh last night and then on to Cincy by noon today is on them, though.
  17. Yeah, it's high comedy up in here. Alright, let's have some fun. Let's list all of the Hendry-era middle infielders we like better than La Stella. Not including the players that never played for the Cubs that were traded away, it's a grim crew. Cubs middle-infielder seasons since 2001 with a higher walk rate than La Stella's career rate (400 PA total, the equivalent of a year): - 2002 Mark Bellhorn - 2008 Mark DeRosa - 2008 Ryan Theriot So yeah, sure, I'd prefer LH 2002 Mark Bellhorn and 2008 Mark DeRosa if he hit lefty. Aside from that, I'm willing to give La Stella more than 30 PA with the Cubs to prove a valuable LH IF bat. EDIT: Forgot Valbuena last year, but he wasn't exactly Hendry-era. 2015 Valbuena is having a weird season though.
  18. Yeah, it's high comedy up in here.
  19. Yes, let's head straight for the false equivalency because hating his stupid face is understandably irrational. Out of the meatball and into the meat loaf.
  20. If that's not a glaring red flag, it's too late for you.
  21. Yep, definitely malfunctioning.
  22. while at the time this trade was super awesome, i can't see how the lee and ramirez trades don't beat it by a mile. I suppose that's true, since they also got the two best players in the Ramirez trade (aside, was that the biggest example of a team selling low in player history? The Pirates basically dumped Ramirez after running him out there injured for a year and destroying his value), and the Lee trade was for a young 1B coming off a scary injury that he never really recovered from.
  23. You should probably uninstall the meatball add on that came with your last OS upgrade. It's malfunctioning and preventing logical processes.
  24. That was a trade where the Cubs essentially gave up no value and got the two best players in return. Definitely the highlight of Hendry's GM career. What wasn't known at the time was how poor the organization was at player scouting and development. Couple that with a manager that had no idea how to manage the one development aspect Hendry excelled at (young pitching) and it ended in disaster.
