    I wouldn't say it's a major problem. The bullpen is average. Unfortunately we doubled down on great performances from the scrap heap from Cahill and Richard and it hasn't worked out for the most part. Warren has been unreliable and that was quite unexpected. I love Strop and he's electric but every so often just completely implodes. Not going to fault Rondon for either of the last 2 nights. He allowed exactly 2 legit base runners and as a result blew 2 saves. Today he should have gone 1-2-3 but was screwed. He's been dominant. In an ideal world you have 9th - Rondon 8th - Lockdown lefty 7th - Strop 6th - Grimm/Loogy LR - Cahill Cahill has been good, Strop has been great, Warren has been really good, Grimm has great stuff and lousy results, Rondon has been about the best in the league, and Wood has been great. Great does not mean "never allows a run", so you get days where the pen allows runs.

    haha, and now they have to play an ecuador team that is much better than Peru. Not having Yedlin is going to be a big problem. The move is probably Fab in at RB and Castillo out left, but I bet JK goes with Orozco at RB. Or put Cameron at RB and slot Besler/Bimbaum in the center with Brooks.

    Let's see...there's no way it's Zobrist, Fowler, Rizzo, or Heyward. Soler has a good walk rate. Ross, Montero, or La Stella wouldn't be surprising. That leaves Bryant and Russell. I'll say Bryant since Russell walked a ton in the 8 spot.

    If the Cubs finish the year 52-52, they will end up 93-69. And probably still make the playoffs.

    I'm still an extremely dumb soccer fan, but Zardes just bothers me to watch. He always looks like he's playing panicked or something. I have zero confidence in him to make good decisions when he has possession of the ball. He has a first touch worse than anyone I've seen at the National team level. So it becomes instantly more difficult to play possessive soccer through him. If you watch the Bolivia friendly, Zardes gets two assists by accident as the ball careens off him fortunately right to a teammate. In his favor, he makes good runs and tracks back very well defensively and gets a lot of takeaways in the open field. He's just super unreliable when you play the ball to him.

    Also, Cameron and especially Brooks were great last night. Best I've felt about a central back pairing in a while. Dempsey was also great. Wood was better when they moved him up high. Zardes has no place in this lineup and was worse than usual.
