    Two weeks ago everyone was freaking out about the Cubs using Tseng, up just 2.5 on the division. Seems like forever ago.

    Here's what I figure for the playoff rosters: Locks (19): Starters (4): Arrieta, Hendricks, Lester, Quintana Relievers (4): Davis, Edwards, Montgomery, Strop Lineup (11): Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, Russell, Contreras, Heyward, Schwarber, Happ, Zobrist, Jay, Avila Decisions: - Another lefty reliever is required. Leaning Duensing here. That leaves 5. - If Almora is healthy enough to play (and there's little indication he won't be), he's on the roster. That leaves 4. - Among the 4, last year the Cubs went 14/11, so assuming the same split, there are 2 spots for pitchers and 2 for position players. If the Cubs are confident that Montgomery is the only emergency long man they'll need, then I'd guess Lackey stays home and the Cubs take two of Rondon/Wilson/Uehara. If not, they'll hedge their bets and take Lackey and one of Rondon/Wilson/Uehara. - To fill out the bench, they'd take 2 of La Stella/Martin/Rivera, pending what they expect their biggest needs to be. If they want to use Avila more in PH situations than La Stella, I could see them taking Rivera as an insurance catcher option with Martin. If they think 2 catchers will be enough, they'll go with La Stella and Martin for the flexibility.

    4-5 guys who make the postseason roster. Maybe 2 who start game 1? All three backup catchers in the starting lineup! Love day-after-clinch day. Would love to eliminate cards with that lineup. Lol.... You forgot Rivera Secretly was hoping Rivera and Contreras would also be in the lineup for an all-catcher look.

    It's not a question of if, but when pitchers will run out of gas with Dusty. Unfortunately, it may not happen until after the initial series, but it will happen. I also anticipate Dusty will pitch to Bryant with the game on the line before Rizzo because Bryant hasn't beaten him before. I also anticipate Dusty using the 25th man on a hunch to start over one of their productive hitters just because the dude's been there before.

    If the Cubs win today, it will eliminate the Cardinals completely, which would mean the Cardinals would play baseball with no playoff aspirations for the first time since 2010.

    Now that Cubs' scoreboard watching is mostly pointless for this season, I'm just rooting for the Dodgers to lose 2 more games and the Indians to lose 1, because I am that petty.

    Fun fact, Stephen Piscotty has a lower SLG than Jason Heyward and Ben Zobrist. He does just have Leonys Martin beat though.

    Based on napkin calculations, I think Kris Bryant is now leading the NL in fWAR.

    The Cubs are now 12-4 vs. the Cards this year, after starting the year 3-3 vs them. 9-1 since, with the loss being a game they led in the 8th.

    Two weeks ago, the Cards were slightly ahead of the Cubs in run differential. Now, the Cubs have double the Cards RD.
