Every team he's coached has had a fabulous defensive reputation. Yes, most of those teams have included Hummel, Johnson, and Moore. However, guys like Byrd, Barlow, Jackson, and even Smith have shown great defensive prowess. I know your argument is that Painter has ridden Hummel, Johnson, and Moore to success. Given the production he's gotten out of his lesser players, I would say he's an above average coach at least. I'm not quite sure what leads you to believe otherwise. How dare you not mention Darren Brooks or Stetson Hairston.

If they trade Leddy for Smid...nevermind, they wouldn't do that. They can seek Leddy all they want. He's basically untouchable, IMO.

Frolik reminds me a lot of, well, Jack Skille. He puts himself in position to get the puck to the net, but he doesn't know how to bury his chances. Stalberg's the same way too.

Eventually, Wade's going to have to start taking the important shots. Bulls are now tied with the Heat in the loss column.

He played great today in the 3rd, OT and the shootout. I missed the 2nd period so I don't know how many of those goals were his fault. He didn't really have a chance with the ones on the PK. The even-strength goal was a result of Crawford being double-screened by his own teammates. He had no idea where the puck was when Phoenix shot it.

Crawford's just like Niemi when it comes to shootouts. He's awesome at them.

After tonight's loss to the Cavs (yes, the Cavs), the Knicks are just one game ahead of the 76ers for 6th in the East.

I remember watching that awful "Homecoming" show before the Free Agency event in the summer. Rick Reilly was talking to Wade about all of the great point guards in the league and he named Rose. Wade interrupted him and said, "Derrick Rose? Really? Already?" After that he laughed and just shrugged his head. Rose should've just laughed in his face after he made that shot yesterday.
