  1. The Mets have a very powerful offense, but their starting pitching isn't what I would call very good outside of Glavine and Pedro.
  2. Peoria lost 6-4. Estrada went 5 giving up 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run, 1 BB, and struck out 6. Evenson pitched an inning and 2/3's allowing 2 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, and struck out 2. He allowed a homer. Mueller was charged with the loss as he pitched 2/3's of an inning allowing 1 hit, 2 ER's, and 3 BB's. Avery pitched to two batters and retired both of them. Koerber pitched the 9th allowing 2 hits, 1 run, 0 earned runs, 1 BB, and struck out 1. Carter was 1/4 with a 2-run homer. Ryan Norwood was 1/3 with a solo homer and a walk. Jesus Valdez went 2/4 with a double and an RBI. Malone, Lalli, and Lilly each had doubles. Game 1 for the D-Cubs went final...a very crazy game, especially the 1st inning. Palm Beach scored 6 in the top of the first, but Daytona scored 12 (   ) in the bottom half of the first, cruising to a 14-7 win. Sounds almost like a Jaguars-Dolphins game. Holliman made it out of the first and did decent after the 1st: 5 IP, 8 hits, 7 ER's, 2 BB's, 2 K's, and allowed a homer. Layden pitched 2 perfect innings of relief, including striking out one. Ryan Harvey had a huge game going 2/4 with a Grand Slam, a double, 7 RBI's, and 2 runs scored. Craig went 1/2 with a double, 2 RBI's, 1 BB, and 3 runs scored. Johnathan Mota had 2 hits. Every player in the lineup had at least 1 hit this afternoon. Boise up 2-1 in the 6th.
  3. My question is...what took so long? But like some of you guys have mentioned, this is a situation where Hendry would just sit on his rear end and not do anything to a struggling pitcher who is obviously past his prime (Rusch).
  4. And Theriot is 2B too? Are they in different levels? No, they both played at Iowa.
  5. Iowa wins 9-7. McGehee singled, which scored Fontenot from 2nd. Deardorff scored from 1st on a missed catch error by the Albuquerque 3B. McGehee was able to go to 3rd and he later scored on a sac fly by Ojeda. Pitching for Iowa: O'Malley went 6 giving up 9 hits, 3 runs, 0 BB's, 5 K's, and allowed a homer. Emanuel retired a batter on a K and also gave up a hit. Rapada struck out the only batter he faced. Aardsma blew the save as he gave up 3 hits, 3 runs, 1 BB, and struck out 1 in only 2/3's of an inning. Wuertz improved to 6-0 as he went an inning and 2/3's giving up 1 hit, 1 ER, 1 BB, and struck out a batter. Felix finished 3/5 with that HR. Fontenot went 3/5 including 3 doubles on the night, 1 RBI, and 1 run scored. Fontenot's double in the 9th started out the rally which led to 3 runs. McGehee went 2/5 with an RBI and 2 runs, Ojeda went 1/3 with 2 RBI's and a BB, and Restovich and Soto each had singles. Boise lost 11-3. Billek's final line wasn't pretty: 5 IP, 13 hits, 7 ER's, 0 BB's, 1 K. Blevins pitched 3 innings and gave up 2 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned, 2 BB's, and had 2 K's. Francisco pitched a perfect 9th. Camp was the only player on Boise with 2 hits tonight. Colvin went 1/4 with an RBI and a K. Canzler went 1/3 with a triple and an RBI. Lansford and Joseph were 1/4 and Mercedes was 1/3.
  6. Ugh, Jaxx lose 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th. Mateo went 5 innings allowing 5 hits, 3 runs, 0 BB's, and struck out 5. Pignatiello pitched the 6th allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, 1 BB, and struck out two. Shipman pitched the 7th and only allowed 1 hit. Campusano took the loss, his first with the Jaxx, as he pitched an inning and two thirds allowing 4 hits, 1 run, 0 earned runs, 1 BB, and struck out 1. All of the DJaxx's runs were unearned runs as Mobile committed 5 errors. Jackson was 2/4 with an RBI, a walk, and a SB. EPatt went 1/4 with a BB, a run, and 2 SB's. Negron and Dope (who had a PH RBI single) had the other 2 Jaxx hits. Iowa up 6-3 in the 8th. Boise down 11-2 in the 8th.
  7. Felix hits his 8th homer of the season! He is now 3/4, with a HR, 1 RBI, 3 runs scored, and 1 SB on the night. Iowa leads 6-2 in the bottom of the 6th. Jaxx are still tied at 3 in the 8th. Boise is down 4-0 in the 6th.
  8. Peoria lost 6-3. Taylor got the loss as he went 6 giving up 10 hits, 5 runs, 0 BB's, 5 K's, and allowed 2 homers. Teasley pitched an inning and two-thirds giving up 1 hit, 1 run, walked two, struck out 1, and gave up a homer. Koerber pitched the final inning and a third retiring all 4 batters he faced. Alberto Garcia was 2/4 with a double and two runs scored, and Yusuf Carter was also 2/4 with a run scored. Malone went 1/3 with a double and a walk. Davy Gregg went 1/4 with an RBI, and stole his 20th base of the year. Ryan Norwood and Olin Wick were each 1/4. Jaxx are tied at 3 in the 7th. Iowa leads 5-2 in the bottom of the 5th. Boise down 4-0 in the bottom of the 5th. Billek has given up 10 hits, 4 ER's, 0 BB's, and 1 K in 5 innings. Camp has the only Boise hit so far.
  9. Oh ok, I just heard talk of THE riot on wgn or the score about him and hill. I figured that means they are both doing good (I KNOW Hill is doing great). I also heard pat and ron talk about some kid piching in AAA or AA named Weaver? They said to remember that name. I might have gotten that name wrong. One can only wish we had Jered Weaver in the organization. I would think that they were talking about Randy Wells.
  10. Daytona lost 6-1. Veal took the loss going 5 and two-thirds allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned, 5 BB's, 6 K's, and allowed a HR. Easily his worst start at High-A :( Mendez pitched two and a third allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned, walked none, and didn't strike out any. Bronder pitched a perfect 9th. Daytona's offense only mustered three hits: Harvey with an RBI double, Spearman and Ciaramella each went 1/4. Peoria down 6-3 in the 8th. Jaxx down 3-2 in the 5th. Iowa just took a 4-1 lead in the 3rd thanks to a throwing error, which allowed McGehee to reach and Pie and Coats to score. Soto then singled, scoring Restovich.
  11. Here we go with the announcer crap again. I'm getting really sick of all of these morons crying, and what really gets me aggravated is how that doofus in the dugout doesn't do anything to get these no-talent bums to concentrate on the play on the field.
  12. Mesa wins 9-3, thanks to an 8 run 8th inning. Kopach's final line: 3 and two-thirds, 1 hit, 1 ER, 2 BB's, 1 K. Platt pitched two innings and a third allowing 1 hit, 1 run, 0 ER's, and struck out 2. Hernandez got the win as he pitched 2 innings allowing 2 hits, 1 run, 1 BB, and struck out 2. Holdzkom pitched the 9th allowing 1 hit and struck out 2. Hackstedt and Williams were each 2/4 with a double and 2 RBI's for each of them. Gilbert was 2/3. Rosario was 1/3 with 2 runs scored and Heredia, Rundle, and Andersen each went 1/4.
  13. Kopach got the start for Mesa and has pitched 3 innings allowing no hits, no runs, no walks, and struck out 1. Mesa leads 1-0 on an RBI groundout by Luther Murphy in the 1st.
  14. Uh, woohoo. Boy, what a game. I'm so happy for the Tigers tonight.
  15. I can't say I'll be spending a Friday afternoon watching the Cobs play a meaningless game.
  16. Iowa won 6-2. After Guzman's 6 innings, Rapada pitched a scoreless 7th only allowing a walk and a hit, Aardsma pitched a perfect 8th with 2 K's, and Wuertz pitched a perfect 9th with 1 K. Felix had a nice night going 3 for 5, with 1 RBI, 1 SB, and 1 run scored. Buck Coats also had a 3 hit night including a double and 2 RBI's as well as a SB. Fontenot had 2 hits, including a double and 2 RBI's as well. Jaxx lost 3-1. After Gallagher pitched, Shipman pitched 2 innings allowing 3 hits, 1 run, and striking out 2. Cherry pitched the 8th and struck out 2. The Jaxx only managed 3 hits tonight: a double by Sing, a double by Cates, and a single by Richie. Not a very good offensive night tonight. As mentioned earlier, Daytona won 5-4 with Harvey hitting 2 homers. Peoria lost 6-4. Yepez pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits, 3 runs, 3 BB's, and struck out 3. Mueller pitched 2 innings allowing 3 hits, 3 runs, 1 BB, and struck out 2. Rayborn pitched a perfect 9th. Valdez went a perfect 5 for 5 tonight, including a double and 2 RBI's. Garcia and Malone wach had 2 hits with Reynolds and Norwood collecting the other Peoria hits. Boise won 7-5. Petrick's line was listed earlier. Ruhlman pitched an inning and a third and gave up 3 hits, 4 runs, 1 BB, and struck out 2. Francisco blew the save, but also picked up the win in relief as he went an inning and two thirds allowing 1 hit, 1 BB, and had 2 K's. Maestri picked up his 1st save of the season as he allowed 1 hit, 1 walk, and no runs in the 9th. Colvin's night ended at 2/4 with the homer, 3 RBI's, and 2 runs scored. Camp had 2 hits, including a double as well as driving in 2. Lewis and Matulia each went 2/3 with Lewis getting a double. Lansford had a triple, and Baez and Clevenger each were 1/2 tonight.
  17. Hill's 2nd: Single, flyout to center, BB, called K, fielder's choice 6-4. 24 pitches, 16 strikes.
  18. Hill's 1st in the AAA All-Star game: Groundout 6-3, popout to short, K looking on the outside corner. 10 pitches, 8 strikes.
  19. Now THIS is extremely Cub-like.
  20. Yeah, he's going to be the host of the CBS pregame show. Why he would do that, I have no idea.
  21. At least the Cubs can't lose on my birthday this year. AL to win 8-3. Ortiz wins the MVP.
  22. Go Pack...please don't suck as much as last year, ty.
  23. Sucks that the Bulls aren't in the Atlantic Division. But they'll still do well regardless. BOOOOO to steve smith! I can see every team in the Central making the playoffs for several years in a row.
