  1. I'm sick of the excuses. Dempster's been getting way too many of them lately.
  2. Iowa loses 8-1. O'Malley was good for the first 4 innings, as he held New Orleans scoreless, but he couldn't make it out of the 5th. His final line: 4 2/3's IP, 8 hits, 6 ER's, 1 BB, 6 K's. Shipman pitched an inning and a third allowing 2 hits and striking out 1, Atlee pitched an inning allowing 2 hits, 2 BB's, and 2 runs, and Emanuel pitched the 8th allowing a hit. Fontenot went 2/4 and drove in the lone run of the game for Iowa. Pagan was 1/4 with 2 K's in another rehab start tonight. Coats and Reyes had doubles and Theriot had a single. Felix went 0/4 with 2 K's. Peoria tied Wiscosin in the top of the 9th with 3 runs. Here's how they got them: Peoria Top 9th Pitcher Change: Roman Martinez replaces Harold Williams. Yusuf Carter called out on strikes. Kyle Reynolds singles on a line drive to right fielder Michael Saunders. Offensive Substitution: Pinch hitter Ryne Malone replaces Nathan Price. Ryne Malone doubles (1) on a line drive to right fielder Michael Saunders. Kyle Reynolds to 3rd. Dylan Johnston strikes out swinging. Davy Gregg reaches on throwing error by first baseman Jeffrey Flaig. Kyle Reynolds scores. Ryne Malone scores. Robinson Chirinos singles on a fly ball to right fielder Michael Saunders. Davy Gregg to 3rd. Pitcher Change: Edgar Guaramato replaces Roman Martinez. With Mark Reed batting, wild pitch by Edgar Guaramato, Davy Gregg scores. Robinson Chirinos to 2nd. Mark Reed grounds out, second baseman Luis Valbuena to first baseman Jeffrey Flaig.
  3. Jaxx lose game 2 of the doubleheader, 1-0. Shaver pitched a good game, but did not benefit from any offense tonight. He went 5 innings allowing 6 hits, 1 run, 0 BB's, and had 6 K's. Campusano pitched the 6th and struck out the side. Nic Jackson had a double, Walker, Moore, and Rojas were the only other DJaxx players to get hits. Iowa down 6-1 in the 7th. Peoria down 4-0 in the 6th.
  4. Yes, we know White Sox fans have an anti-ESPN agenda, just like they have an anti-Jay Mariotti agenda, and an anti-Cubs agenda. I'm actually an anti-Give credit to a manager for a rapid turnaround he had little-to nothing to do with. Leyland overmanages more than TLR, Dusty, Ozzie, and any other "old school" manager combined. Most managers don't have anything to do with how a team performs in baseball. It's more the talent. Ozzie got his time on ESPN when the White Sox won the World Series, so I wouldn't be bitching. I never said anything to the contrary, but I am a Sox fan, so civilized discourse is impossible. Also, does anyone think they'll fall apart? I just can't see how this will keep up, but many said that about the Sox and they just got all the breaks. Maybe it's their year. I don't think they'll fall apart. If anyone falters down the strecth, I think it will be the White Sox b/c the starters will run out of gas, and the bullpen will be underworked due to all the innings the starters are eating. Most every pitcher has been on a very strict 110 pitch count the entire season. The whole staff is known for being innings eaters, so it's not an anamoly. Keep in mind that the Sox are 5-1 vs. the Tigers, and that the Sox have a better pitching staff (debatable, I guess) and a much better lineup. Um, yeah, and we've owned the Cardinals and look where that's gotten us. It'll take a lot more than owning the Tigers to win the division. Yeah and the Sox have done a lot more than own the Tigers, evident by the 2nd best record in MLB.
  5. Samardzija will indeed get the start for Boise tonight.
  6. Wade Miller's line after 3: 3 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, 0 BB's, 2 K's. Peoria is down 1-0 after 3. Jaxx scoreless after 3. Iowa is also scoreless after 3.
  7. Jaxx lose game 1, 4-2. Mateo struggled today as he went 5 innings allowing 7 hits, 4 runs (off of 2 homers), 1 BB, and 2 K's. Baez came in to pitch a perfect 6th, including striking out 2. Chris Walker went 2/3 including a double and a run scored, Brandon Sing had a double and a walk, Dope had an RBI single, Carlos Rojas added a single and an RBI, and Jake Fox went 1/3 to keep his average at .333.
  8. People still care after lineups like these? I hate Dusty.
  9. I sent a pretty lengthy email just now.
  10. Daytona wins 6-3. Holliman got the win to improve his record to 6-4. He went 6 innings allowing only 3 hits, 1 run (on a homer), 1 BB, and had 7 K's. His ERA is now down to 2.78. Hunton pitched an inning only allowing a hit, and Sotolongo pitched the final 2 innings allowing 3 hits, 2 runs (1 on a homer), and had 1 K. Matt Craig went 2/4, including a double, and had 4 RBI's on the game. Jemel Spearman also added a double and an RBI. Joseph Simokaitis added another double for Daytona. Spears, Lane, and Ciaramella all added hits. Harvey went 0/4 with 3 K's.
  11. Sign me up. That's so one-sided (in favor of the Bulls) that its not funny. Pax can pick a big at no. 2 (probably Aldridge) and take the best available at 9. Aldridge at #2 and O'Bryant at #9. This trade does seem one-sided for the Bulls, but Golden State really wants a center. They worked out O'Bryant yesterday, but it seems to me that they want to take a guy with a few years under his belt in the NBA. Murray would replace Songaila's role quite well, I would think. I would definitely do that trade in a heartbeat.
  12. Yep. It has gone way too far.
  13. I called it! His ERA is down to 1.91. Honestly, what is the use for keeping this man in AAA? Our season is lost, so why not build Hill's confidence and build him mentally by having him start every 5th day in Chicago?
  14. It doesn't help that the NL Central, as well as the NL as a whole (besides the Mets), basically sucks.
  15. Pagan is rehabbing at Iowa tonight in RF. Coats is in CF as Felix has a day off. Pagan grounded out in his 1st AB in the 1st inning. Hill's 1st: 2 K's and a popout. 15 pitches, 10 strikes.

  17. Thanks Ron. Daytona's game has also been rained out tonight.
  18. This would be a no-brainer for Pax -- I hope its true. The Bulls would have some nice options with the #2 and #7 picks. I would definitely agree with that. If he were to land the #7 pick, the Bulls could realistically land 2 out of these 3: Roy, Aldridge, or Thomas. Thomas and Aldridge are expected to fall down to around #7 if the Bulls do not pick one of them at #2. Roy, of course, is expected to go to Charlotte if the Bulls don't pick him at #2. Either way, this could end up being a very productive draft if we can get the #7 pick.
  19. Draftexpress.com is reporting a possible trade that would send Duhon and #16 to Boston for #7.
  20. Mesa loses 5-3. Oscar Bernard came in for 3 innings after Gwaltney gave up 2, and Bernard pitched 3 nearly perfect innings, only allowing 1 hit. Phil Norton took the loss as he gave up 3 hits, 2 runs, and had a K in 2 innings. Time to give it up Phil. Perez pitched the 8th and allowed 2 hits and an ER. Malone was the bright spot on offense for Mesa today as he went 2/3 with a HR and a triple. He also had a walk. Gilbert and Valentin had the other RBI's for Mesa; Valentin having an RBI double. Lopez had a double and Parker had a single as well for Mesa.
