    Iowa won 2-1! I-Cubs scored 2 in the bottom of the 7th on an RBI single by Theriot, which scored Ojeda. Deardorff was able to score from 1st on an error by the New Orleans CF. Aardsma pitched the 8th, only allowing a walk, and Ligtenberg pitched the 9th, only allowing 1 hit. Hill is now 6-1 on the season in AAA.

    Hi Jake! In your time with Daytona this season, you dominated a pitcher's league with all of the homers that you hit. As a player, how much confidence does that give you knowing that you performed well against some of the best pitching prospects in some team's organizations? You've gotten off to a good start with the Jaxx as well. As a hitter, what is the biggest difference between the pitchers in the Florida State League and the Southern League?     Hey Sean! I've heard and read reports that your velocity has went up significantly this season compared to last season. What exercises have you done to your arm that have helped you gain 4 or 5 miles per hour on your fastball in a little less than a year? It also seems like you are getting better and better every start down in West Tenn. Is this because you are getting more comfortable with the batters down in the Southern League? What adjustments have you had to make to keep up with the hitters in Double-A compared to the hitters in the Florida State League? Thanks, and best of luck the rest of the season!

    Mesa came back to win 10-9, with 3 runs in the bottom of the 9th. Hernandez started for Mesa and went only an inning and 2/3's giving up 4 hits, 5 runs, only 1 run earned (3 Mesa errors in the first 2 innings), 1 BB, and struck out 1. Matt Maradeo pitched 2 innings allowing 4 hits, 4 runs, 0 BB's, and struck out 2. Walters pitched 2 and a third allowing 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 BB, and struck out 1. Cedric Bennett pitched the 7th and retired all 3 batters. Kopach pitched the 8th and retired all 3 men and Marco Carrillo got his first win as he pitched a perfect 9th. Williams had 3 hits, including a double, 3 RBI's, and a stolen base. Ryan Lilly added 3 hits as well, including a double and 2 RBI's. Every starter except Adam Hackstedt had at least one hit.

    This did not stop Torre and Francona taking several Yankees and Red Sox when they were the managers of the AL. But Torre and Francona didn't flaunt the fact that they did and could do so. Sometimes it isn't so much what you do, but the perception you give in doing so. And this is very true.

    Peoria beat Clinton 13-6. Wade Miller struggled in his rehab start going 3 innings and allowing 6 hits, 4 runs, 1 BB, and struck out 1. Yepez got the win as he went 6 allowing 7 hits, 2 runs, 2 BB's, and had 3 K's. Alberto Garcia homered and drove in 3. Valdez had 3 singles and 3 RBI's. Chirinos also had 3 RBI's and a double. Every player on the Chiefs had at least 1 hit tonight. Boise wins 3-1. Pina's final line: 6 IP, 1 hit, 0 ER's, 1 BB, 2 K's. Brett Jackson pitched the 7th allowing 1 hit, 1 BB, and striking out 1. Jayson Ruhlman pitched 2/3's of an inning allowing 0 hits, 1 run, 0 earned, and walked 1. Michael Cooper earned his first save of the season as he pitched an inning and a third of perfect ball. Joseph was 1/3 with the 2 run homer. Canzler was 1/3 with a triple and an RBI. Colvin went 0/3 tonight.

    Daytona beat Brevard County 11-7. Holliman struggled tonight as he couldn't make it out of the 4th as he allowed 7 hits, 5 runs, 2 BB's, and struck out 3. Phil Norton (who was just promoted from Mesa) pitched two and a third of an inning allowing just 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks, and striking out 1. Mendez pitched an inning allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, and a walk. Tim Layden picked up his 4th win of the season as he pitched a scoreless 8th. Schappert pitched a scoreless 9th, allowing just 1 hit. Jake Muyco homered and singled tonight and drove in 4 runs. Matt Craig had 3 hits tonight, including a triple. He also drove in 4 runs. Jemel Spearman had 3 hits, including a double and an RBI. Simokaitis and Wick had 2 hits and Harvey and Lane each had singles. Jaxx won 6-2. Shipman pitched 2 perfect innings of relief and Baez pitched a perfect 9th inning. Chris Walker had 3 hits, 2 RBI's, and 3 stolen bases on the night. Carlos Rojas also had 3 hits. Scott Moore had 2 hits, including his team-leading 14th HR of the season. Negron also had a single and an RBI. Dopirak went 0/4, but did have an RBI. Peoria leads 13-6 in the 8th. Boise leads 3-0 in the 6th. Pina has only allowed 1 hit and 1 BB through 6.

    Iowa blew a 6-1 lead and lost 7-6 to Omaha. Walrond went 5 innings allowing 8 hits, 4 runs, 1 BB, and struck out 5. Rapada pitched a scoreless 6th allowing 2 hits, and a BB, and also struck out 1. Jerome Williams finally pitched in a game as he pitched a perfect 7th. Aardsma had his 2nd straight loss as he pitched the 8th and allowed 3 hits, 3 runs, and 1 BB. Casey McGehee had 2 hits, including a double, and 2 RBI's. Jose Reyes came through with a 2 out RBI double, which scored 2 in the 4th. Fontenot also had a double tonight. Felix went 0/4 with an RBI on a sac fly. Daytona was down 7-6, but they put a 5 spot up in the 8th to take an 11-7 lead. Peoria leads 11-4 in the 7th. Jaxx lead 6-2 in the 8th. Gallagher's final line: 6 IP, 4 hits, 2 ER's, 2 BB's, 4 K's. Boise leads 3-0 in the 3rd. Pina has thrown 3 perfect innings and Joseph hit a 2-run homer in the 1st.
