Peoria loses to Burlington 6-5. After Atkins pitched, Estrada went 2 and 2/3's allwing 1 hit, 1 BB, 0 runs, and had a strikeout. Mueller pitched the 9th allowing just a hit. Malone went 2/4 with a double and 3 RBI's, and Norwood also had 2 hits, including a double. Valdez and Carter were the other Chiefs' that drove in runs. Kyle Reynolds had a hit as well for the Chiefs. Jaxx lost to Huntsville 13-2. Pignatiello pitched an inning and 2/3's after Browlie and only allowed 1 hit, and had a strikeout. Vasquez had an awful appearance as he only retired one batter (on a strikeout), and allowed 4 runs on 1 hit and 4 BB's. Baez pitched an inning and 2/3's only allowing 1 BB, and Shipman pitched the 8th allowing 1 hit, 2 runs, 1 earned. Jake Fox went 1/3 with a double, an RBI, and a run scored. Brandon Sing went 1 for 3 with an RBI. Walker, Moore, and Sprowl were the other Jaxx with hits. Iowa beat New Orleans 4-3. Randy Wells won his first game in Triple-A as he went 6 innings allowing 5 hits, 0 runs, 2 BB's, and had 5 K's. Clay Rapada struggled as he only got one batter out and allowed 4 hits, 1 run, and had 1 K. Kerry Ligtenberg pitched an inning and a third allowing 2 hits, 2 runs, and had 1 walk. Wuertz got his 8th save of the season as he pitched an inning and a third allowing 1 hit and had 3 K's. Restovich went 2/4 with 3 RBI's. Pagan went 2/5 with 2 runs scored and Fontenot also added 2 hits, including a triple. Hoffpauir, Ojeda, and even Wells each had hits tonight. Felix went 0 for 3 with 2 BB's, 2 runs, a strikeout, and a SB. Boise is scoreless in the 3rd.

Daytona beat Vero Beach 5-4. Perez got his first win of the season as he went 5 and 2/3's scattering 6 hits, 3 runs, 2 BB's, and 5 K's. Weber pitched an inning and a third allowing only a hit and he also had 2 K's. Hunton pitched the 8th allowing 2 hits, 1 run, 1 BB, and had a strikeout. Paul Schappert earned his 2nd save of the season as he pitched a 1-2-3 9th, which included a strikeout. Jemel Spearman went 3/5 with a double, and 3 RBI's. Andrew Lane went 2/4 with 2 runs scored and Jonathan Mota went 1/3 with a double, an RBI, a BB, and a run scored. Harvey and Culpepper each went 1/4 and Matt Ciaramella also had a single. Iowa is up 4-0 through 6. Randy Wells loaded the bases in the 1st on the first 3 batters, but was able to pitch around that as he retired the next 3 without a run scoring. He's been strong after that as he has not allowed a run through 6 and has only allowed 5 hits and 2 BB's, while striking out 5 through his 6 innings. Jaxx are down 7-0 in the 6th. Brownlie was rocked (once again) as he allowed 10 hits, 3 BB's and 7 runs in 3 1/3 innings. He did have 5 K's. The Jaxx offense continues to struggle as they have only 3 hits through 6. Peoria is down 6-5 in the 7th. Peoria just scored 3 in the bottom of the 6th to make it a one run game. Atkins did not make it out of the 6th as he did not receive too much help from his defense tonight. He allowed 8 hits, 6 runs, and 3 BB's through 5 and a third, but only 2 of those 6 runs were earned. There are a ton of good players that went undrafted that I think the Bulls should take a look at, namely Gansey and Pittsnogle. Taquan Dean, Pops Mensah-Bonsu, Darius Washington, and Taj Gray are all going to be undrafted FA's. I hope we can try out at least one or two of these guys.

I hope they suck again. It would be great to see Favre go out losing. I'd be so happy, and it'd be to the Bears too, in Soldier Field. I'm going to love it. same here.... Vasquez faced one batter and got him out to end the 6th. Cherry pitched the final 2 innings and gave up 5 hits, 3 runs, 2 BB's, and had a strikeout. Rojas and Walker each had 2 hits. Sing, Lewis, and Moore each had 1 hit. Sing and Jackson were the only Jaxx to have RBI's in the game. Peoria lost to Wisconsin 5-1. Yepez took the loss as he went 6 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 BB's, and had 7 K's. Teasley pitched the final 2 innings allowing 3 hits, and 3 runs. Norwood had 2 hits and Valdez, Reynolds, Carter, and Johnston each had a hit. Kyle Reynolds had the lone RBI for Peoria. Mesa trails 6-1 in the 5th.

Fair enough. I think Paxson's keeping and using the pick. If the Raptors choose Bargnani like most prognosticators believe, all signs point to the Bulls picking either Thomas or Aldridge. But it could all be a mirage as you suggest. I hope its Aldridge, if it shakes down as you are predicting. The Iverson talk is really interesting also. I read in Sam Smith's column that Memphis is a front runner, and maybe on other team that I can't recall. Boston is the other team interested in Iverson.

Peoria wins 6-4 in 10. In Miller's rehab start, he went 4 innings allowing 4 hits, 1 ER, 0 BB's, and had 2 K's. Estrada allowed 2 hits and 2 runs in only 1/3 of an inning. Evenson allowed 2 hits, 1 run, and had 3 K's in 2 and 2/3's of an inning. Rayborn went an inning and a third allowing 1 hit, 2 BB's, and 1 K. Scott Koerber picked up the win to go 4-1 on the season as he closed out the 9th and sent it to extra innings by retiring the two batters he faced. Matt Avery picked up his 5th save of the season as he allowed 2 hits and had a K in the 10th. Kyle Reynolds went 2/5 with a homer, an RBI, and 2 runs. Ryan Norwood had 2 hits and recently called-up Ryne Malone added 2 doubles and 2 RBI's as he came in the game for Alberto Garcia. Chirinos, Reed, and Valdez each had hits as well. Boise is down 6-1 in the 7th.

I'm sick of the excuses. Dempster's been getting way too many of them lately. :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: That is absolutely ridiculous. Yay, a rolleyes post. Our "sure thing" this season was supposed to be our bullpen. On the rare occasion that we actually take a lead, it seems like our pen always blows it. Yeah sure Dempster hasn't been in many meaningful games, but isn't that was side sessions and what not are for when you haven't pitched? The man's ERA was 4 and a half before this apperance. That's not that good for the money that he is getting from the organization. Man you sure must have not played ANY competetive sports. How are you supposed to keep your mental edge pitching on the side? Ask ANY closer and they'll tell you, they need Save situations to stay sharp. you can believe what you want to believe but I particularly don't subscribe to the the thought that having your closer in a save situation once every 17 games is going to yield great results no matter how much money he is making, and that if he's rusty pitching in save situations once every 17 games it's all his fault. The "side sessions" and "what not" don't prepare a competetive athlete in a closers role for closing a game out. Think a little. I've played basketball and baseball for pretty much all of my life. But whatever, you have your opinion, I have mine.
