  1. Rivals early signing period rankings are out: http://rivalshoops.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=738588 SIU at #24. And that's not counting Justin Bocot who isn't eligible until next year. :D
  2. yeah the kings week long break pissed me off. i don't mind the "divisional month" thing though, but the heavy-divisional schedule needs to go. cut it down to 6 a year and get all of the teams to play in every arena. and i just prefer a newer brand of hockey, that's all, i guess. It's a travesty in how every team does not play each other when there is an 82 game schedule. That's my biggest gripe with the league right now. Please change this scheduling format. I like the newer brand of hockey. Much more exciting to watch IMO.
  3. Head coach at UCF.
  4. Ryan Grant.
  5. Hawks look like a real team. This is awesome. At least the United Center won't be put to waste this year.
  6. Those same two teams play each other next week.
  7. Did you see the starters lines? Not really sure they deserved to be on the floor tonight. Deng 22 mins 2-8 shooting 1 assist 2 steals 2 turnovers 5 points Thomas 12 mins 2-5 shooting 1 Rebound 1 TO 3 Fouls Wallace 18 mins 0-0 shooting 5 boards 1 steal 1 assist 1 TO 0 points Gordon 24 mins 4-10 shooting 1-4 from 3 1 board 1 assist 1 TO 11 points Hinrich 17 mins 0-6 shooting(worthless) 0-3 from 3 4 boards 4 assists 3 steals 2 TO's 3 fouls That is horrible production from a teams starting 5 Gordon and Tyrus' lines weren't too bad to warrant a benching for the rest of the game. I just really think Hinrich is the key to the Bulls success or failure. When he is good, the Bulls do good. But when he is awful, the Bulls usually lose the game. IMO, teams have figured this out. They're attacking Hinrich, hoping he gets in foul trouble. He is easily rattled when he does get in foul trouble as he not only gets pissed, but he tries to do too much with the ball and shoots either terrible shots or forces bad passes. The only game he did good in was the only game that we won. I don't really think it's a coincidence. For a 5th year player to not improve at all since he has come into the league is downright pathetic. You really don't think Hinrich has improved from when he came into the league? No, I don't. His shooting has improved a little bit, but it still should be better for his role. He still turns the ball over a lot for a PG. The one thing that he should have been able to improve on was his foul trouble. That hasn't changed at all. A guard should not be in risk of fouling out in every game.
  8. Thanks for subjecting me to this crappy Bears-Raiders game when there are two much more interesting games on FOX right now.
  9. Not an easy thing to do. This has been our best game of the year. McCarthy has been stressing week in and week out that we still need to put a complete game together. Looks like we're doing it so far. And Peterson just got hurt. Wonder how serious it is.
  10. I don't think the Illinois-NW game is a complete mismatch. It'll be close, but Illinois should win it by 10 or so. As for SIU, a win against Hampton, and we're good in terms of HFA for the first two rounds of the playoffs. Really pumped up about that. And I haven't been too excited about an NIU game for a while, but Saturday's game against Navy should be fun to watch. Navy scores a lot and gives up a lot of points. I'm thinking something like a 63-56 score in that one.
  11. Our best case scenario is 2-10 after the circus trip. That's sad.
  12. Our best case scenario is 2-10 after the circus trip. That's sad.
  13. Are you guys relying on 3's again this year? We're relying on bad coaching again this year. I hate Wainwright! I never liked the signing and I still don't. Why don't you guys through a ton of money at chris lowry? Because he's made it clear he's staying at SIU for the long haul. And #2, a move to DePaul would be a lateral move for him. I think I'm being lenient in that assessment.
  14. 15. I wasn't even upset when I saw the final score tonight. But when I read the recap, I was steamed. How can you take out all of your starters with NINE minutes remaining in the THIRD quarter and NEVER let them come back into the game? I'm sick of Skiles' crappy way in how he runs this team like a college team. His time has come and Paxson needs to make a move. There is no identity to this team. And the way his offense has played should be absolutely embarrassing to Paxson. And for what it's worth, the Kobe chants were back tonight.
  16. ILLINI! What a win for the program. Illini football is BACK. And SIU beat Illinois State today to move to 9-1 on the season. A win against Hampton next week, and we have HFA for the first 2 rounds of the I-AA playoffs. Solid day.
  17. SIU's first regular season game isn't until next Saturday against Northern Illinois and the long layoff is a good thing. Josh Bone had a slight separation of his shoulder in practice and is expected to miss a couple of weeks. Hopefully he'll be ready to go for our Thanksgiving tournament in Anaheim.
  18. Ride the hot hand. Lalime did a great job against a tough Columbus front line and held them in check for 57 minutes. I'm glad I have FSN Midwest. I can actually watch a Hawks home game tonight.
  19. Needless to say, they've played like they've been blind ever since they've been formed.
  20. You're not alone. At least it makes sense why you get the Raiders-Bears game. Doesn't make sense why we get it over here.
  21. And Depaul will get their first loss Friday. Creighton does not lose at home. They do to SIU. I believe we've won our last 5 at Creighton.
  22. I don't care if Peterson runs for 500 yards, as long as we win the game.
  23. I absolutely agree. Seems like an even trade to me.
  24. Thanks Mayo. Whatever makes SIU's job that much easier when we (hopefully) take on USC in the final of our Thanksgiving tournament.
  25. The 0-9 start wasn't last year. Heck, it wasn't even two years ago. I'm not worried yet either. But the faults on this team are so obvious. No one can take over a game for us in the closing moments. We had a 4 point lead with 3 minutes to go, and we went into a huge drought. Which brings up another one of our weakness--scoring droughts. We have way too many of them. Skiles weird ass rotations need to stop too. That Duhon-Thabo-Deng-Noah-Smith lineup was an eyesore.
