  1. I will agree that luck plays a part in close games. But this is probably a bigger factor. The biggest factor, I would say, is being a bad team.
  2. I think Smith will be there at #37. I think they trade out of the first and get two 2nd's or a 2nd and 3rd. Jarrett or Smith would work for me. I see Jarrett as being a lot like Moose....when he was good. I think Smith is gonna be a star though.
  3. You're learning.... :) 14/4 K:BB rate, but has given up 2 HRs for his 3 ERs. He has allowed 21 FB outs of his other 34 retired, though 11 them came on opening day.
  4. Yep, if we both win.....4 way tie in the division. I'm bitter about this past game.
  5. Mitch Atkins is quietly repeating his great 2006 numbers. RECOGNIZE!
  6. You just cut one of the players you were trying to trade to me. How is Hawpe not a full-timer?

Me and HBC is a great one. My offense went home early with just 8.5 points today, being outscored by Edgar Renteria alone. HBC's 3 starts were all in the 9-12 point range, but he got a decent offensive day, putting him up by (my count) less than 2 points. Jason Giambi vs. Julio Lugo tonight to decide it. Not looking good for me despite a 90+ point league coming into the final day.
  9. OF with great power potential, going to be a .300 hitter who takes walks. Looking for a SP, C, or U. Johnson had 2 HRs today, among the league leaders in BBs and runs. Top 5 2B including today, with 2 exemptions left.

Yep, in my game Wright, Loduca and Alou all show 0's. Actually, I'm not sure Loduca has much more than that.

Sorry. My 3 starters on Saturday combined for 22 innings, 4 ERs, 27 Ks. Obviously the scores are still messed up a little, but you are gonna have to have 3 great outings to beat me!
  12. As raw would say...WILLIAM PETRICK! Oh, and Wellington Castillo isn't 20 yet and he's batting third and hit a HR today. Nice! Petrick had the sinker working too, with 6 of 8 GB outs.
  13. Anytime Shaq tries to take a charge, he should get called for the foul.
  14. That's the right move there. That no-foul call when Gordon shot was just embarassing for the refs. He was bodying and reaching. Could have called 2 fouls.
  15. Great job getting thru the 7th. Really helps save the pen 1 more inning, because they'll be needed tomorrow.
  16. YES!!!!! Deng is the best true small forward in the league. He was excellent. Thabo and Wallace really stepped it up defensively, Shaq had 9 in the 2nd half. Wade was held scoreless in the 3rd. Gordon was amazing forced to play the point for most of the game.
  17. The Cubs have not lost or won a single game this year based on luck. When they have lost, it's because they played very badly. When they have won, it's because they pitched really well and were less bad.
  18. Yep. What's amazing to me is that every single Cubs team since 1987 has been horrible fundamentally, can't take a walk, can't run the bases, the pitchers walk too many hitters, defense is shaky. It doesn't matter the personnel or the roster, the Cubs have forever played bad baseball.
  19. Wow. These are 2 crappy offensive teams.
  20. 12-man pitching staffs are completely annoying. The Cubs have been short on the bench all year. Either by having 12 pitchers or by having Ramirez, Soriano, and Derosa out with nagging injuries. That's how you get Jason Marquis pinch hitting in the 9th inning of a 2-run game.
  21. Are you just going around nitpicking my damn posts? Grow up. several people picked Mavs/pistons. you just happened to be closest. If I was referring directly to you, I would have quoted you Several? There were only 3 people who picked. And one of them did NOT pick 1 vs. 1. There was another person who said Bulls win the East, but lose in the finals, with no other teams picked. you and UMFan i guess. at any rate, it wasn't a snipe at you Then I apologize.
