  1. Gettleman has drafted really well. I don't really get it either, but he's earned my trust. I suspect they liked Humphries, but he went just ahead of them. They were probably hurt a lot by La'el Collins' situation. I really like Shaq Thompson the player (more than most in the NFL, apparently) and it sure seems like, more than in normal years, different teams have vastly different draft boards after the top 10 or so. The big question with Shaq is his position given his smaller size but he's perfect for Carolina's 4-3. And he's definitely a 3 down LB so that's not a question either. Yeah, big Shaq fan. Top 15 player IMO. I read a stat that something like 64% of passes are thrown within 5 yards of the LOS in the NFL. Shaq has potential to be an elite coverage LB and almost completely take away the short passing game against some teams.
  2. The tough thing about that is though, that Gregory and Collins both have issues. Gregory has the failed drug test and apparently a bunch of other stuff going on. Collins reportedly failed several drug tests and LSU. Do you really want 2 of those guys? The Bears can probably get away with 1 problem player. I know they also like PJ Williams....another player who's gotten in trouble. If I could get only 1, I'd probably take whichever one is falling the furthest, but no way to really know which one that will be. La'el? He's falling because he might have committed murder. Sorry, Jalen. Not La'el.

  4. Landon scares me. But you kinda have to pick him right? I'd rank them: Gregory (depending on how big his issues really are) Harold (don't love him, but immense upside + Fangio = hope) Fisher Collins Carl Davis
  5. Give me Gregory at 39. Call Rams for Brockers. Call Jets for Wilkerson. Call Arizona for Massie.
  6. OMG. JETS YOUR DL IS LOADED. DON'T TAKE LEO!!!
  7. For the record, I have Beasley ahead of Dupree.
  8. 1. Bud Dupree, OLB Kentucky 2. Carl Davis, DL Iowa 3. Tyler Lockett, WR Kansas St 4. Ibrahim Campbell, S Northwestern 5. Max Garcia, C Florida 6. Dominique Brown, RB Louisville Last year I called Fuller and Vereen pre draft. I called Sutton, Fales and the trade up for Vereen as the draft unfolded. This part my guess and hope.
  9. Let's not get carried away here. One is a goofy jerk. The other is a violent toward women sociopath. I meant in the locker room. He was just as vocal as Marshall last year. He was just as confrontational, if not moreso than Marshall. Both were jerks on the football field. Marshall, by all accounts, is no longer that person he was before the Bears got him. He's just nuts.
  10. Surprised the Bears didn't try to trade Bennett earlier. He's every bit the [expletive] that Brandon Marshall is. He had the fight with Kyle Fuller that got him kicked out of camp last year. He got into it with Kyle Long on Twitter this offseason already, though they made up.
  11. PFTCommenter ‏@PFTCommenter 1m1 minute ago @AdamSchefter per the Ravens CVS would also like to apolgize for its role in the cancellation Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha holy [expletive], every time I think pft commenter is past his prime, he hits a homer like that That's hilarious.
  12. Word is the Jets offered Fletcher Cox, Mychal Kendricks, and several draft picks for #2. I think Kendricks is definitely on the block (ILB depth chart also has DeMeco Ryans, Kiko Alonzo, and Brad Jones, all who they just either signed, re-signed, or traded their best player for). And I'd imagine, they'd trade a DL if they can get further up in the draft, to possibly make a move for Mariota. Rather have Cox than Wilkerson, though if I'm giving up 7 (I'd also want their 1st and 2nd). You mean Eagles, right? My God. I completely mixed up the 2 teams. Ignore everything I typed.

  14. Arizona selects ILB Stephone Anthony, Clemson Pittsburgh selects CB, Quentin Rollins, Miami (Ohio)
  15. Sounds like a racecar driver.
  16. Last year, it was the 1st round series right? Felt like an inferior team, giving a Cup caliber team its best shot, and the Blackhawks underestimating the Wild. The teams are much closer in talent/ability this time around, but I still would rather be playing the Wild than the Blues.
  17. Ferrell was a borderline late 2nd round pick if he came out. If he waits a year.....he's a borderline late 2nd round pick, with a 1.5% chance of turning in a Trey Burke like senior year, where he's a top 3 player in the nation on a Final Four team and goes late 1st. Thinking IU has to have a top 10 preseason ranking.
  18. They can literally only score off turnovers. I feel like how the 06 Cardinals must have felt. Bucks didn't even have to execute on offense to win that game.
  19. Errick Rose Because he had no D and he made a terrible error on O. Of course, game was over 2 minutes earlier without him. Oh well, 3 more chances to win this.
  20. Chargers select Mario Edwards Jr
  21. He started swinging during Chapman's windup He was still swinging from the previous pitch.
  22. what happened with this guy? he was mocked early teens forever and now he's a 2nd rounder I've seen him recently mocked in the first still, but not often. My only guess is his size, but he's a 4-3 OLB with speed and, in those cases, size is usually forgiven. No character issues either (in fact, isn't he the exact opposite of a character concern?). So basically, I don't know why he's dropping. Because he has no position in the NFL. He'd be fine as a 4-3 OLB in the NFL. A little small, but speed is more important for 4-3 than size anyway, typically. 4-3 Will LB and sub package player. With most teams passing 60% of the time or more and teams playing nickel that much, he can basically be a predominant nickel LB. Also read that 60% of passes in the NFL are thrown within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. Thompson will excel in the short passing game, covering RBs, etc. I still think he's a top 15 talent in this draft, but I understand if he doesn't go til 2nd. Doesn't fit everywhere. But he definitely has a position. And he's pretty good at it.
  23. It's been a poor crowd the whole series. Its [expletive] snowing out here!
  24. I'd go Davis/Philips. Preferably Davis. ILB has some young bodies and hopefully at least 1 of Foster, Jones, Bostic will step up. No hope for McClellin.
  25. Yeah that stretch sucks, but mainly because of the multiple short weeks. But I don't understand the sentiment about the schedule being brutal or the first 3 games being awful. Are people forgetting the Bears won 5 games last year? Only 3 of the last 13? They could start off with the Vikings, Rams and 49ers (teams with losing records) and that would still be tough, because all those teams were BETTER than the Bears last year. Every game is going to be tough for this team. I'd rather get the toughest games out of the way early. New coach, new defensive scheme. I would prefer the hardest games to come later in the year when we've geled more and hopefully gained some confidence. Eh, @ Seattle is a loss no matter when you play it. Based on the last decade, Green Bay is a loss no matter when you play. I'd rather start 1-2 and have those losses out of the way than to need one of those games late in the season if the Bears are lucky enough to be competitive down the stretch. UMFan's reasoning makes a lot more sense to me. Like a lot. It's not like "getting the losses out of the way" changes the likelihood of winning other games or something. I also think it's better to get good teams early, because they tend to struggle early. I don't know if it's complacency of bringing so many players back and going thru the motions early. Seattle was 3-3 last year, before winning 10 of 11 before the Superbowl. GB was 1-2, and was basically shutdown offensively by Seattle and Detroit in the first 3 weeks, before winning 12 of 14.
