  1. Yogi! Valentine thought his team was up 3 instead of 2, fouled intentionally and the best, most experienced player on the team blew the game tying FT.
  2. Well, what it's like to have two plodding, injured receivers that DBs dare to go more than 10 yards downfield is pretty fresh in our minds. Did they get incapable or did Trestman [expletive] it up? Not a single person complained about redundant WRs when they both went for 1200+ the previous year.
  3. Jimmy Clausen was re-signed today too.
  4. I agree with the overall sentiment that his value will only go down but he's not that old, he's turning 31 in a couple of weeks. It's not like he's a receiver that uses speed to make things happen. I can see him slowly morphing into a crafty possession receiver similar to the end of Muhsin Muhammad's career. And how is he injured other than the rib and ankle injuries that will be healed by training camp? 11.8 yards per catch this year. He already is Muhammad.
  5. and go After Suh to anchor the d-line? While i'd love this, I think Suh can and will get more money elsewhere, and I think it would be better to get an impact defender at 7 and try to get a receiver in the 2nd or 3rd like a Devin Smith, Dorial Green-Beckham (though I doubt they'd take him with suspension issues in college) Jaelen Strong, Justin Hardy, someone like that Great WR depth in this draft. While there's also great depth at edge rusher, the top guys are a good bit above the rest. I think they could get a Beasley at 7, and then come back and take their WR in the 2nd. Sammie Coates may be there. Devin Smith.
  6. Don't even have Hartline yet. Wilson and Jeffery have both been hurt in every pro season they've had. I'm OK with this trade though. Especially if it's a 4th coming back. However, if they don't cut Harvin in the next day or two they will have to give their 4 to Seattle. But that would be pick 101 (pending comp picks) coming back for Marshall. That's a pretty decent haul considering they gave up 2 picks in the 70s for Marshall, got 2 great seasons from him, 1 other season, and it saves cap space. Wait I thought it was gonna be a 5th rounder. Did I miss something? Missed that I posted it before a 5th was announced. Of course, I could have missed it when I posted.

  8. Yep. They might think Cutler isn't good enough to win it.....but they should be smart enough to know "not Cutler" isn't good enough to even be respectable.
  9. I said Johnson, Almora, Underwood 2 votes ago. Sticking with the last on my list. But I remember when I personally ranked the prospects at the end of last regular season, I had Underwood 11th. I can't remember who else I had in the top 10 though. I'm assuming it was Tseng and I changed my mind or if I ranked Baez or something.
  10. If they're gonna suck, hopefully they suck bad enough to draft a potential replacement for Cutler (since I don't see him lasting much past next year) Thing with Cutler is if he's around by this time next week....he'll have 15.5Mil guaranteed for 2015, and 10Mil guaranteed for 2016. Obviously, he could be traded at any point or could be cut designated June 1 next year and the Bears could split that 10Mil cap hit up over 2 years. And it's not like 10Mil is enough to stop the Bears from drafting a QB early and having Cutler be an expensive backup or stopgap. The contract he was given last year was basically a 3-year deal.
  11. Going to guess Brandon Marshall for Michael Wilhoite and a pick. Hoping for a 4th, since they will get a comp pick for Whitner.
  12. Hartline wants like 4M/year. F that son! I was thinking more like 2.5 ish.
  13. Hartline is not that good. Had a couple good years, but is a 3-4 WR at this point. If signing him means Marshall's gone, the Bears are going to need Jeffery to go back to 2013 levels and Marquess Wilson to also step up really fast. They also have to definitely draft a WR in the top 110 picks. Edit: though he's not over 30 like I thought. Still just 28.
  14. Yep If Cutler cared, he would jump out of that helicopter to his death. #meatballbearsfan
  15. See, I think people are all jaded because these guys are the "best" the organization has to offer. But the point of this whole thing was not to throw too much into big armed projectable overthrowers and have a quantity of guys like this. I guess I look at it "glass half full". Better to have 6-7 guys without huge ceilings than to have 1-2 with huge ceilings and recovering from elbow surgery.
  16. That is my feeling. I cannot get excited about any of them and while I assume one of them probably slots it at this spot, I have no idea who it should be. I look at them similar also. And I have Johnson ahead of the pack because he's at the highest level. But I wouldn't say I see them as lottery tickets per se or that I'm not excited about them. This is exactly what this organization wanted. A bunch of guys that project to be middle of the rotation starters. And MOTR guys are pretty valuable these days. But I'm convinced one of these guys could be an Arrieta and exceed his projections with something clicking, more maturity, or a new pitch developing. I can see a legit argument for Pierce as a top 80 prospect. And I can see any of the names mentioned in that same vein by the end of 2015.
  17. Made Matt Barnes his bitch for a good part of the 2nd half.
  18. How long is Vermette under contract? He's not just a rental is he? That's a lot to give up if so, though I don't have a problem with it. Man, if these guys can get it together fast and learn to play together, getting Kane back will be unstoppable. They're going to miss Kane though.
  19. Baez has the best bat speed I've ever seen. Him being able to get to the ball quicker is almost unfair.
  20. You are so smart.
  21. Yep, love that Milwaukee walk-off. That and the NLCS are the 2 moments I'll remember more than any of Aramis' moments. Epic bat flips too.
  22. Oh and there's this. http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2378797-kentucky-edge-rusher-bud-dupree-has-rare-talent-but-raw-skills Yeah, that's where I am. Not a big Gregory fan though. I still have no idea why you're high on Dupree. I'll gladly be wrong. They drafted his clone 20 years ago. Biggest of the edge class, but every bit as athletic. Has 3-4 OLB experience, including dropping in coverage. I think hes more dynamic than Fowler, is more dimensional than Ray who wins solely on speed, and doesn't have the size limitations that Beasley and Gregory could (admittedly, Gregory could still add size according to most but I don't see it). He's not good at shedding blockers at the pro level. You look at what he did vs Sec and he struggled minus one play vs South Carolina.
