  1. I don't think the Bears go full 3-4, but I see a 4-3 hybrid definitely as a strong possibility. Fangio typically likes big DL, so be interesting to see what happens to guys like Allen and Paea (whether he's re-signed or not). I think this opens up the draft, and the Bears almost have to go edge rusher at 7. It's where the value is at that point in the draft. Shane Ray, I like a lot. But I might actually like Bud Dupree more.
  2. Would you trade Alcantara, Hendricks and a decent reliever (not sure who) for Zimmerman? Would they? I don't like the thought of giving up 5 years of Hendricks for 1 year of another pitcher, but Z is pretty good and the Cubs have money to re-sign him.
  3. RANKED! #23. Looks like a tourney team barring collapse (which is completely possible and maybe likely with 0 depth up front)
  4. I hope for his sake that woman next to him is a relative. She doesn't even have lips negating her only value as a non-relative. She's Ryan Theriot after he stopped getting lucky with BABIP and still played SS.
  5. Yeah, that's where I am. Would have been sweet to have Fowler AND Valbuena getting on base a ton. Just moved the question mark to another position (for now?), though granted they strengthened the more important position.
  6. YES! Love Fowler, when I don't accidentally mix him up with Cameron Maybin.
  7. I'd take any of the names rumored to be in the running for Bears DC. Fangio, Allen, Mike Smith, even Jim Schwartz would be an appealing DC.
  8. My preseason predictions. 1. Wrong. 2. Seattle made playoffs, obviously won games. 3. 3 of 5 out. 1 of 5 in. 4. Top 10 O's in playoffs = 6. Top 10 D's in playoffs = 5. (2 teams in both based on ypg) 5. Half right. 6. Wrong, but Forte did break reception record for RBs. 7. Wrong 8. Brees tied Roethlisberger for passing yards (Luck 3rd, led most of the season though) 9. Giants in top 10, Niners just missed. Wrong. 10. Still very possible. Standings all screwed up except for NFC West, which was dead on.
  9. The Packers turned into the Bears for 30 minutes. Aw man... Might have to pay for a week of NFL league pass and watch that at some point this week. Itll air on NFL network this week. Classic game. Best last 5 minutes I've ever seen.
  10. Is that a defense ranking? Still wrong but closer, I guess.
  11. There's a misconception that Mariota has predetermined reads and only uses half the field. But he has really made strides in going thru his reads and reading the whole field. I think he's coming to the NFL with better accuracy, ability to read defenses, and leadership than any of the recent spread QBs.
  12. Friend texted me a tweet that Fox likes Kyle Shanahan as his OC. This keeps getting worse.
  13. He was my favorite option for the Bears at the #7 pick. Tremendous upside.
  14. It seems to me that those candidates are primarily defensive coordinators though. Defensive head coaching candidates appear to be the best too. But I feel like there are always more good defensive coaches anyway. You really only see QB coaches, and the highest regarded OL coaches become coordinators, and not all teams have the former. But on defense, you have LB, DB, DL coaches all becoming coordinators at any given point.
  15. Seems to be no shortage of potentially really good coordinators, based on guys out of a job, assuming they'd be willing to make a lateral move if not a HC. Which, I guess that makes up for the shortage of HC candidates.
  16. It'll be a crime if Mariota doesn't go top 3.
  17. Has Ohio State punted this game?
  18. Marshawn Lynch thinks that was a good run by Jones.
  19. I think they are over thinking the Buckeyes speed. They're fast and well be tough to get outside on, but it doesn't play to Oregon's strengths.
  20. Oregon's game plan to make QBs backwards fumble for no reason is gold!
  21. Wow. I think that's right but damn.
  22. Unless he's transferring out of Division 1, he'd have to sit out a year and be two years from the draft. And hes already been out of HS 3 years.
  23. Crazy talent on this OSU team. Maybe most in the country. These LBs are nuts.
  24. Matt Cassel had 33 pass attempts at USC and got drafted Right, but he exhausted his eligibility. Cardale isn't turning pro early to be a 7th rounder. Argument for #3 QB in the draft.
