  1. Yes but does that mean he's the best player or does that mean LeBron was half assing it through the regular season after playing 16 playoff series over the last 4 years? The playoff numbers would suggest the former, but gun to my head I think LeBron is still better, but its close. A lot of people don't realize just how great Davis's season was. I think the latter. LeBron is still the best player on Earth. Davis is very good. Hell, I called him for league MVP before the season started. But LeBron is better, inferior season or not.
  2. Devin Davis and Hanner Mosquera Perea kicked off of IU's basketball team after getting caught with weed at a party. Not the first time either has been caught with weed or heavily intoxicated. Sucks to lose 2 of the few front court players we had. Who knows what Davis would have been after the accident last year. Perea would have been a big part of next year's potential top 15 team.
  3. You really think somebody else is going to be better than LeBron before he hangs it up? I think Anthony Davis already is. You think wrong.
  4. Yeah, I've always felt if the Bulls won 3 games in this series, they would win 4. I think that 3rd win is a huge hump to get over. Been nice to get that today. Blowing that 11-point lead hurt. They had a chance to, if not drive in a dagger, then keep Cleveland at an arm's length by making some shots.
  5. Lucky shot but he deserves some good luck. Pau don't be serious.
  6. Gibson has kept the bigs off the offensive boards, stopped Irving in the lane, and LeBron while isolated on him whilr he was driving. With apologies to Butler who has an impossible task, Gibson is the defense.
  7. Basically would be their 3rd 1st round talent added to already a top 5 team in the league. La'el Collins, Randy Gregory in the 2nd, and their actual 1st round pick Byron Jones.
  8. Aaron Leming tweeted on Monday that as of Saturday night after the draft, the Bears had no apparent interest. Very disappointing. He actually was a pre-draft visit too.
  9. The point is that when the Bulls have two players who performed arguably as well or better this season and another who has shown the ability to match or exceed that performance level in the past, it's pretty ridiculous and disingenuous to attempt to declare superiority by hanging their hats on having the "two best players" in the series. Wouldn't it in turn be disingenuous to consider the idea laughable? I understand where you're going here but I was honestly laughing more at that being their case for why the team down 1-0 who already lost a home game will prevail than the notion that Kyrie might be marginally/arguably better than those guys. If you asked me to rank those players, I'd say it's Lebron, Butler, Irving, Gasol, Rose...with the caveat that Rose can still pull magic out of his ass when he feels good/wants to/whatever it is at this point. I'd probably give Kyrie the edge over Gasol pretty easily (age a factor), and I'd probably give him the narrowest of edges over Butler. But the Bulls probably easily have players 3-6 or more in this series.
  10. What are the rules on UDFA contracts? Can there be bonuses based on starts/probowl/etc? I was wondering the same thing myself. I know there's a UDFA bonus pool that's pretty small, but does a contract like that have to come out of the rookie draft pool and if so, does just the guaranteed money count? There may well be something I don't know, but my understanding is that he gets paid the same as every other UDFA, but that UDFAs can renegotiate their contract after 2 years instead of after 3 like a drafted player. So basically, he'd have to play for peanuts for a couple of years, prove he can toe the line and then get his mega contract after that. This is correct.
  11. You'd like to win all of them, but yeah this one will be the most difficult to win. If we win, great, if we lose just don't lose badly and give them momentum. I'm expecting loss. Hoping for no implosion in goal causing controversy.
  12. Yeah, he went about where I expected him to go. Maybe even a little earlier. That being said, I did say that I would have passed on him in the 3rd for a higher upside guy (Odigizhuwa, Harold, etc) and had my fingers crossed he made it to the 4th. He probably wouldn't have made it to the 4th, but the difference between him and the next C off the board (Max Garcia, I believe it was) isn't as big as the difference between one of those guys in the 3rd vs. the RB they got in the 4th, especially when you factor in need. Also, I think a LT probably would be my #1 pick next year, as things stand now. Bushrod is probably playing his last year in Chicago. His dead cap goes down to 4.4Mil, which is cut in half if he's a June 1 cut next year. And he's not worth paying 8.7 Mil in 2016.
  13. Against the Cavs or to win the whole thing? They definitely can take advantage of the [expletive] that has befallen the Cavs, but yeah, the latter is still a pretty huge long shot. Eh. Both are longshots. Cavs still have the best player in the world who hasn't lost before the NBA finals in 5 years. 4 years. And let's not pretend he did it all by himself. It's 2015. He went to the finals in 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2011. Last time he lost was 2010. That was 5 years ago. Also, he's not doing it by himself this year. Their best 2 players match up and are better than the Bulls best 2 players.
  15. It's funny that the moment we drafted Long, I automatically assumed that the Bears would eventually draft Grasu. It just made sense to me. Couldn't miss him while watching Long. Best friends. And the Bears have needed to get a C of the future for years now (back to Olin b4 we knew Garza could somewhat successfully move) I thought he'd come out last year and be a high pick, but he did not. Then I had him pegged for the Bears at the beginning of this year, but they showed no interest in him from my knowledge, and he was completely off the radar for me. In fact, I don't think the Bears met with or had a visit from any of the picks after White.
  16. Yeah, I would have done pretty much the exact same thing, assuming White was the pick in the 1st. I would have drafted Beasley, but have no qualms about White being the pick. All those picks 2-5 were easily the best players on the board, without character concerns, IMO (which I think was clearly the focus). And I'm not a Clemmings fan at all. Had him with an early to mid 3rd grade. I probably would have picked Ifo in the 6th, but C is definitely a much bigger need.
  17. I've seen a lot of Marvin Harrison comps. I see a little Roddy White or Jordy Nelson in him. Good pick. Gives Carr a reliable top target. My favorite comp is Isaac Bruce. Strong route runner, with good hands, but sneaky ability to get behind the defense. He's a potential 100 catch a season guy.
  18. Great top 20. Much better than this year's class. Bosa is better than every edge rusher drafted this year. Stanley and Tunsil (that's the order I'd have them) are better than any OT in this year's class. Hargreaves is way better than Trae Waynes. I like Nkemdiche better than Leonard Williams, and I love Williams. Hand is better than every other interior DL other than Leo, with Oakman having potential to be also. All those S are better than any in this class. The LBs are all better than any this year, if we're talking non-pass rushing types. And healthy Treadwell is slightly better than Amari Cooper, IMO. Elliott may have gone ahead of injured Gurley if he was eligible this year, but Gurley is a good bit better when healthy. I like Elliott better than Melvin Gordon. Both top QBs in this year's class are better than the 2016 guys, though are 4 on this list are 1st round picks.
  19. Well, looks like I'm a Vikings fan 14 weeks a year!
  20. I like Grasu. Great fit in zone blocking scheme. But it's funny, he's probably a top 75-80 talent but I don't like the value. I think you had to take Harold or PJ or Owa (high upside guy) and hope Grasu was there in the 4th, with Max Garcia and others as fallback options.
  21. Cant believe Ohdiggy is still on the board. Harold, Clemmings and Strong still there.
  22. Watch for back to back FSU picks. PJ Williams. Also if i knew Carl Davis would be on the board in the 3rd, I would have taken another position in the 2nd.
  23. Solid pick. Better than Phillips and maybe Davis. I think he can play anywhere asking the line. The Red Bryant comp was dead on.
