Have you been reading Walterfootball.com? I think that dude has a personal vendetta against Mallett. He keeps alluding to stuff, but won't say what it is and apparently it is catching on around the web, but nobody seems to actually know what those character issues are. I've heard drug problems (cocaine, weed). I've heard showing up teammates who drop passes. And he was arrested for a misdemeanor for public intox, 3 months before his 21st birthday. The drug thing has not been proven at all and Mallett himself and people around the Arkansas program said it's not true.

Liuget without a doubt. If he's gone, I'd have a tough time between Sherrod or Pouncey (and I would entertain trade offers). And trading down is something I definitely could see Angelo do. I love Liuget, but it would be tough for me to pass up Sherrod that late in the 1st. If all those players on the board though, definitely trade down and hope one is there when the Bears pick (although, Heyward is not a good fit for the Bears).

I didn't know about Paea as a 3-technique until he showed up at the Senior Bowl under 300. He played this season at about 310lbs and I thought he was probably a step slow for my liking. At 295 though, I'd probably take him over Nevis assuming he got a step quicker.

If you're talking about the 3rd down pass on I believe the 1st or 2nd drive, the throw was fine. Hester stopped the route and picked it up again too late. Should've been 6. Looked like that to me too. But I thought even if that was the case, the throw still could have been better and catchable where Hester was.

Damn, that'd be sweet. I like Nevis and Liuget better, but Paea in the 2nd would be pretty sweet. I wonder if he'll bench at the combine. He's capable of putting up 45-50 reps from what I hear.

Dawan Landry is a FA also. I'd be interested in him too. Mikell and Weddle are probably not going anywhere. Huff will be overpaid for what he brings to the table.

Yeah, he's probably an early 2nd round pick at this point, taking the spot of Ryan Broyles who stayed in school. Like was said yesterday, with the success of Jackson, Wallace, and Knox; guys his size aren't going to be overlooked anymore if they can play.

S becomes a huge need if he goes. I'd actually like more of a FS type, because I think Harris and Wright can both play SS, and I'd like a true ballhawk at FS. Edit: Also, this is a very weak safety draft.

But he didn't look like he wanted to play. He didn't look like he cared. As an aside, I argued with a friend today. I asked him if Peyton Manning left a game with no explanation would you question his heart. He said, "no because Peyton never misses a game". When I told him Cutler only has missed 1 game in 4 years as a starter and that was after a game in which he got sacked 9 times. He said, "he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt." When I asked why....the conversation ended.

Don't forget LB. Only Urlacher and Briggs are under contract. Even if you bring back one of Roach/Tinoisamoa and bring back Iwuh, you still need at least 1 more guy there, and possibly 2, though Rod Wilson is always on speed dial. I'd move DE down the list, because I think Wootton will be better there and Melton can also play some DE.

Agreed. There's a couple guys in the draft I really like, including mini-Urlacher, Colin McCarthy.

I don't want Pisa back. He's only a 2-down LB at this point. Roach is younger, healthier, and has played MLB in his career. He's also better as a nickel LB. He's a great player, but he missed 16 games in 2 years as a Bear. I wouldn't spend anymore money on him. And yes, the better bring back Manning. If not, they probably need to bring in 2 safeties this offseason, 1 of which has to be an early pick or a high priced FA to potentially start.

I'd like the Bears to take a look at Drew Stanton. He looked good vs. the Bears when they played in Detroit. And he was drafted in Detroit when Martz was the OC there. He spent that year on IR, but I'm sure he picked up some of the offense. Cutler, Stanton, Hanie sounds like a solid group of mobile QBs who you don't have to change the offense for.

Yes, can't diminish the value of the leader of an offensive line that allowed its QBs to get sacked 56 times, mostly due to blitzes that weren't picked up. Want Back: Roach, Manning, E Williams, Hanie, Adams Don't want back: Tinoisamoa (good player, too many injuries), Clark, Collins, Kreutz, Davis, Maynard, Bullocks, Wilson Probably want out: Graham (goes to a team that lets him play CB), Aromashodu (goes to a team the lets him play WR)

You are naive if you can trust the Cubs management to handle any situation correctly. That's how you get Damon Buford over Corey Patterson, Neifi over.....anyone, and Hill over Soto for more than 1 game in a row. -

I don't really see why it matters either way though. They're probably better bets than Barney, and since Barney's ceiling is just a utility IF anyway, having him as additional depth isn't really a bad thing, and at this point in the offseason the money isn't going to be used on another roster spot. May not matter with Quade, but past managers (not naming any obvious names) it would matter a whole heck of a lot. You got Castro and DeWitt in the middle IF as of today. Both are young players, I think bringing in a "veteran" like Guzman, Lugo, or Cabrera would just be asking for whichever one they bring in to get 400 ABs at the expense of struggling younger players. I'd rather take my chances of getting a Theriot like 1/2 season out of Barney over getting what I know will be crap out of Cristian Guzman. -
Niles Paul is a monster. 6'1, 225lb WR? I would have more interest in him if he didn't come from Nebraska where they don't teach the passing game. He seems like a decent fit.

I read something on him that said. Great fit for teams that run crossing routes w/ fast WRs. Perfect fit for the offenses like those in Philly and Martz's offense in Chicago. I'm a HUGE fan of Titus Young, but I don't want another sub 6', sub 190lb WR, unless you are also bringing in a bigger one. What about him would remind one of Mike Wallace with that size? It sounds like all Jackson to me Wallace is the same size too. Young, 5'11, 175 Wallace 6', 180 Jackson 5'10, 175 I heard him called a "more polished Johnny Knox"

Yes. Really the only 2 guys I'm interested in early in the draft (also see Titus Young comments) since the Bears can't get Green or Jones. Both would be great fits in the offense. Both have the ability to run most of the route tree. Both have good speed and the ability to get deep. If you go WR early, these are the only 2 options IMO.

oh lord, hit me with some pictures or something, that sounds off the charts Recipe later, once I find it. Recipe: Ingredients: ~1 lb boneless chicken breasts/cutlets ~1 lb thick-cut bacon brown sugar chili powder (to taste) toothpicks - Prep brown sugar + chili powder on a bowl/plate, stir together to mix. I use about 1 tbsp chili powder to 1 cup brown sugar, which gives it a little heat but not overpowering. It's not an exact science, just play around and see what works. - Cut raw chicken breasts into 1-in cubes, try to keep size even so they all cook the same - Cut bacon strips in half - Wrap bacon around chicken cube, hold with toothpick. - Roll bacon-wrapped chicken around in sugar/chili mixture until evenly coated, and put finished ones in baking pan (or cookie sheet, I guess, just something to hold them in there) - Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 mins, or until chicken is cooked, bacon is cooked, and sugar mixture caramelizes around it. - Makes about 30-40 or so per batch. That's dude. I might make this [expletive] tonight!
