  1. I would kill for that bracket for IU. But it would kinda suck to be in the west. Much rather be in Nashville.
  2. Mark Sanchez now makes more than Aaron Rodgers.
  3. Makes you wonder what the Colts could get. Colts could probably get: 1st, 2nd, 3rd this year 1st and 2nd next year 1st the year after No exaggeration.
  4. they stuck it in real good To top it all off, they still may get Blackmon, too. Such a good trade for the Rams. I don't know if the Rams want Blackmon. I think they may actually go after Reiff or Claiborne if he gets past Tampa. I think they are going to spend money on a WR in free agency.
  5. How about a bracket with? IU- 4 seed Xavier/Detroit- teams with IU transfers from 4 years ago Marquette- 5 seed UNC- 1 seed
  6. That is pretty cool.
  7. Gotta be the 2 favorites. Miami with Peyton throwing to Marshall and probably Reggie Wayne again would be pretty nice. They already have a decent defense, solid OL at 3 of 5 spots, decent run game. With Arizona, they'd just be basically trying to re-create the Kurt Warner success. Sucks for Kevin Kolb though. Would they really spend that much on the QB position? Can't really trade Kolb with that contract. Can't really cut him without knowing if Peyton can take a hit.
  8. Korver forgot he was white and is supposed to be able to hit those shots.
  9. probably, but i'm still going to do it anyway; Beilein (co-)won the conference with a 6'4" PF! Considering just conference play: Indiana beat expectations the most, but didn't win the conference. Of the 3 teams that won the conference, Michigan State beat expectations the most. Of the 3 teams that won the conference, Michigan probably had the least talent. Looking back on it, I could see it easily going to each of those three coaches. Just depends on which criteria you like better. When you consider non-conference play though, Crean IMO would be a clear favorite, so he should be the best candidate from the Big 10 for the national COY. lol I assume you're laughing at the last sentence? Indiana took a team that was picked to be 9th in the Big 10 and a fringe NCAA tournament and instead is likely a top 4 NCAA seed. And that's with one 5 star and only two 4 stars playing, so they weren't drowning in talent. Beilein's close, but they have similar overall resumes and Indiana overacheived much more than Michigan did this year. Ya know you can't win this right?
  10. Confident they'll beat Wisconsin? Ah crap, I was thinking they would play MSU second. No, not confident they'll beat Bucky, but it will be a de facto home game for the Hoosiers. I actually want this Wisconsin win maybe more than any other game so far this season. Maybe it's because I expected losses that weren't....but I feel like IU should have won the Wisconsin game in Madison. I thought we outplayed them. And if Christian Watford doesn't miss 2 FTs, after he makes his steal and jumpshot shortly thereafter, IU is up 1 instead of down 1 with 2 minutes to play. Being down, IU had to play pressure D and left themselves vulnerable to offensive rebounds. Wisconsin was able to get a couple extra possessions up 1 and held possession for 1:04 seconds before converting both of their FTs. Got another offensive board next time down and we were then fouling to lengthen the game. This 1 loss really eats at me for some reason. Every other game I think they were either out-hustled (Nebraska, Minnesota) or were playing a team as good or better on the road and really had no shot to win going into it.
  11. What bar? Anyhow dude is still a freakin specimen even if he likes his booze. Yogis bar. And here I'd have guessed he'd be a PB or downtown kinda guy. Too many MMA wannabes out there. Yogi's is a good place to go to where people won't bother an athlete because most people on the coast don't care about sports. I've never seen him drinking a bunch, just basically hanging out. I could be wrong, but if he gets another DUI he's looking at a big time suspension right? Yep. 3rd strike = year long suspension.
  12. The 28Mil number was very low end that's being reported by most Bears' writers. That number also didn't include Adams and Omiyale being cut. So, that alone would take it to 23Mil now including Forte (28M + 2-3M from cuts - 7.7 Forte tag). I've seen people that claim to be pretty good with how the cap works say the Bears STILL have about 30-33Mil after tagging Forte. My guess is the number is somewhere in the middle (will never know true number with crazy NFL cap rules). If the Bears did get Wallace, it would make sense to also go out and sign a DE. As now you won't get a top 50 player (though I do like Cam Johnson in the 2nd-3rd area). However, if they sign Jackson, I'd bring back Idonije for cheap and then go DE in the 1st. I'd be happy with whoever is there between Perry, Coples (long shot), Mercilus, Ingram, and maybe even Branch.
  13. Can get into the draft room. See the players in my queue. Can see the picks made. Can click on the "draft" button, but nothing happens when I do. Someone can pick Shane Victorino for me or can wait until I get home from work tonight, which will be about 7pm EST.
  14. a) It is possible. I think Wallace would require a 5/$50Mil contract. Probably front loaded with 10-12Mil this year. And if Peppers signed for 6/$91Mil....Mario Williams will get more. I'm thinking 7 years for probably close to $115Mil. Depending on who you ask the Bears (with Forte franchised) have between 21-28 Mil left in cap space. IF you structure the Williams contract correctly, should be able to fit both in. Probably not doing anything else at the point in free agency...but that probably wouldn't matter too much. b) Jackson has DUIs as has been stated.
  15. Exactly why I have wanted the Bears to make the move for Wallace all along. The FA WR class is missing some big names. Michael Floyd had a good combine and may go before 19. Vincent Jackson will have teams throwing all kinds of money at him, and will probably be more expensive than Wallace. He's also 4 years older and not as productive. Wallace, Grubbs, and then DE, WR, CB with the first 3 picks would be ideal. so are we not bringing one of bowman and jennings back? i'm beginning to warm to the idea of making a run at wallace. roethlisberger is a similar quarterback to jay--they both like to hold onto the ball and make more time for their receivers to get open, sometimes to their own peril. i'm down with grubbs, but i'm not cool with moving CW back to LT, so we'd probably be going into camp with Webb as our LT again, which may not be a terrible thing if he's on a short leash, i'll give him another chance. i'd probably go for cam johnson in the 2nd. then a big CB with our first 3rd and maybe sean spence with our second 3rd. i love AJ Jenkins, so I'm going to talk about him in the 4th, if he's there. then maybe a DT in the 5th. I'd imagine the Bears would only bring back 1 of Jennings/Graham. Bowman's definitely gone. Even with 1 of those guys you still only have Tillman, DJ Moore, and 1 of Jennings/Graham. The Bears would still actually need 2 CBs.

  17. That would be a fun defense. OK, assuming we sign Williams, what would our next step be? who do we draft? WR/OT/CB/DE depth I wouldn't even care about DE depth if the Bears had Mario Williams. Double up on WR early. Throw in OT, CB, LB and go after QBs all day while the offense develops the young talent.
  18. I've read that the Bears top 2 targets this offseason were Bowe and Avril. Both got franchised. Went from a pretty strong FA class at WR and DE to a mediocre one, especially if Mario Williams doesn't leave Houston. Dallas even franchised Anthony Spencer, who was quietly a decent target.
  19. Couple interesting things. Michael Wirght just said Avrill was bears top target, and since he got tagged expect Bears to go after Williams Also, Bears among 2 teams that did NOT attend Georgia's pro day (Cowboys other team). Interesting because UGA has a couple guys that many thought would be on the Bears radar. Orson Charles, TE (ran a 4.75 40 today) and Cordy Glenn OT/OG, potential 1st round option.
  20. Haven't heard anything. I doubt they get into a bidding war with Williams. The Pats, Cowboys, and Texans will be all over him. Not to mention various 4-3 teams. If they didn't have Peppers, maybe they throw a ton of cash at him. But this is a pretty decent DE class with Avril, Mincey, and Mathis all being cheaper alternatives.
  21. More than Lynch. Less than Foster? Probably closer to whatever Foster got though.
  22. I edited the original post to update the last few posts. I took the Chargers, gave Lo Pan Fan the Texans and P-T-W the Cards.
  23. Still, it's a viable option that nobody would have blamed him for considering. Several players who did play for IU in 2009 transferred to smaller schools once they knew they would be losing playing time when actually recruited players were coming in. Jones could have gone to FIU for the playing time. Scoring 16 points in 32 minutes/game at FIU could be a lot more appealing than 7 points in 18 minutes at IU.
  24. Sure. I believe I actually had the Chargers last year. So I can take them again. I'll also take a 2nd team if needed. Cleveland, SF, or JAX would be ideal.
  25. By the way, gotta give props to the IU senior class. While I do understand that if they were a more talented group, they would not have been Hoosiers....I do appreciate all of them staying. The main guys are the scholarship players Jones III, Pritchard, and Roth. All 3 guys could have left IU once their playing time was threatened, but they stuck with the program. Jones went from team's leading scorer to coming off the bench as a SR. Pritchard went from putting up 10/6 as a freshman in 29 minutes per, to seeing his playing time cut by 2/3 and scoring fewer points the last 3 years than he did as a freshman. Roth also had his playing time jerked around a lot in his time at IU, but really worked hard to become a better defender and really took to his role as a marksman off the bench. Whatever happens to this team the next 2 weeks, I couldn't be more happier about this season for the 5 seniors. Those 5 have helped recruit the players that have come to the program the last 3 years. They have by all accounts practiced hard consistently when the team had less than no hope. I would have never imagined that this would be a 25-win team this soon. Hopefully these 5 guys will be the trigger to a return to being a premier program for IU basketball.
