  1. Would obviously love to sign him, but not feeling too optimistic about it. He was only getting 9Mil/year. That's very doable. Plus, he's still guaranteed 6.5Mil from the Raiders, so he could be pretty cheap for the first year, if you can structure the contract so he only gets 3-4 from the Bears this year.
  2. No mention of the fact he's already worshipped as a God in Tennessee?
  3. He's not Orlando Pace out there, but it's hard to be disappointed by someone off the scrap heap. It's also hard to be disappointed by someone who is an absolute given to be an upgrade over having Omiyale and Webb at LT for the last 2 years.
  4. Agreed. Yep. Get McNeill and a DE (even if you have to bring back Idonije), and you have a capable starter at every position on the field. You'd still like to upgrade OL and WR more, along wtih SS, SLB, and the pass rush (if only bring Izzy back)....but the team will have improved their biggest holes with Marshall and McNeill. Get Wimbley, bring back Okoye, and draft well, and you have a championship contender in Chicago.
  5. They think Garza is good. There's some decent C's in the draft too.
  6. DRose after the Noah dunk on Anthony. "Dunk on his mutha fuckin ass"
  7. Bad charge call there.
  8. Let's see. Knicks were OK before the trade with a decent amount of young talent. Got him, didn't win as many games. Melo got hurt, Lin took over, they won a lot of games this year. Melo came back they started losing. NYC hates him.
  9. AJ Jenkins reminds me a lot of Denarius Moore who came out of Tennessee last year. He had just average height and bulk. Good speed, but not a completely electrifying blazer ala DeSean Jackson. I think Jenkins has the potential to have a similar impact early on in his career. I think he's a better route runner than he gets credit for. Has better hands than people think. And can play outside or in the slot in the NFL.
  10. Marcus McNeill also. I'd then look to draft whoever lasts longest on the board between Mercilus, Nick Perry, and Coples...possibly trading up for any of them if necessary.
  11. Sanzenbacher can go bye bye. If the right WR is there (and the best available player) at your pick I think you have to take him. I know that. You know that. But do the Bears think the position is solved? I still think they need a WR in the first 3 rounds. Maybe even the 1st.
  12. 3rd QB at league min, no? Wasn't Enderle a Martz guy? I guess they can let them fight it out for the 3rd spot. Throwing away a 5th round pick, the year after throwing away a 6th round pick on a QB who didn't even make the team. Thank God for Cutler, because this organization sucks at finding QBs.
  13. Weems seems like the exact same player that Sam Hurd was/is, but shorter and better at returning. Special teamer and a 5th WR. My only concern with this signing is does it mean the Bears aren't going to draft a WR? Still have Bennett and Hester. Sanzenbacher's still around, and while not guaranteed a spot...he did some positive things at times last year. And Knox is still going to be on the team in 1 way or another. Marshall replaces Roy. Weems replaces Hurd. Do the Bears see this as a full roster of WRs? Are they not counting on Knox at all? If they do think Knox could contribute anything this year, would they really draft a WR, making Knox the 4th and Hester the 5th WR?
  14. Somewhere between 10-18Mil depending on what Jennings got. That's 10-18M after accounting for rookie contracts, correct? Nope.
  15. Somewhere between 10-18Mil depending on what Jennings got.
  16. I didn't do it. Plus, Hanley can still play SS this year.
  17. Even with Jennings, the Bears only have 3 CBs on the roster, so still need 2 more. I'd rather draft 2 guys than sign anybody. But Hayden would be a solid, cheap signing. Hell, if the Bears can sign a DE and bring in an OT, I'd think that would put Dre Kirkpatrick strongly in the mix for the 9th pick.
  18. Anybody know what Jennings got paid? Also which 3rd round pick the Bears gave up for Marshall?
  19. Looks like a special teams guy? And LB depth. From what I've read and my friends who are 49ers fans tell me, he's excellent on ST. Costanzo ranked second on the 49ers in special teams tackles last season with 17 tackles. He also had what the 49ers call 27 “knock downs” and six “big plays.” Huge forced fumble on a punt and recovered fumble on a kickoff in the Saints playoff game. Fill the Brian Iwuh/Tim Shaw role.
  20. Random stat that means nothing time: In 6 games vs. the NFC North opponents of the Bears (not including 2 games he played vs. the Bears), Marshall has had a 10 catch, 100 yard game, 3 different times. 1 each vs. Minnesota (2007), GB (2010), and Detroit (2010).
  21. Jeff George and Randall Cunningham played together for a year in Minnesota. That's probably the best I can think of.
  22. Good move. But I hope he never plays a down for the Bears.
  23. Would anyone trade Hanley Ramirez for Tim Lincecum straight up in a 7 x 7 roto keeper league? My keepers are: Longoria, Votto, Posey, Desmond Jennings, and Lincecum would take Hanley's spot.
  24. Mincey is a good player. Not great, but similar to Idonije in that you can throw him out there 90% of the defensive snaps and he'll put up respectable-to-good numbers. Honestly, with the Marshall development, I'd rather go after Wimbley if he gets cut or go all in draft day for Nick Perry/Whitney Mercilus and bring back Idonije for cheap. I'd jump all over Marcus McNeill if I'm the Bears right now.
  25. Yes. They need to draft one.
