  1. Half the Bears opening day roster inactive. Thats not nice.
  2. Hell, they beat Bama and win SEC title they will jump all the way to #2.
  3. Scott Tolzien will be third Packers' starting QB in past 13 days. Before this stretch, Green Bay had only three starting QBs in 21 years.
  4. Kemp has negative value at this point. Andrus for Kemp would be a fantastic deal for the Dodgers. I guess, personally I'm still a big fan of Kemp, so I'm probably overvaluing him a bit. I wish we'd be looking at acquiring him as long as it didn't take one of the the top prospects. A Samardzija, Barney and maybe someone like Ha for Kemp, Zach Lee and another prospect or two (Tim Federowicz + Chris Reed?) is something I like. If we are dead set on trading Samardzija and really could take on a big contract if they like a guy enough even given the constraints (like Theo has said). Think of it this way. Why would you pay any player cost to take on Kemp's contract(6/130) when you could just pay that money(plus a 2nd rounder to be pedantic) to sign Ellsbury? Ellsbury is at least coming off a productive season, Kemp's last 600 PAs have been about replacement level. That's not to say that Kemp doesn't interest me, but it'd have to be a strict salary dump from LA, which they might not be interested in(for obvious reasons). Russell for Kemp with the Dodgers paying about 45M of his contract feels about right. Still paying too much salary. Eh, 6/85 ain't bad.
  5. Looks like the Kennedy assassination video. "He tipped it back....and to the left"
  6. As was said, if its a good reliever like Doolittle or Cook, then its basically the same as signing a FA like O'Flaherty. But you also get a decent IF out of it that u can possibly flip at a later date. I do worry about what they'd have to give up though. Of course they could be giving up salary too to make the money similar.
  7. Murray got drilled (over the LOS). What a great and terrible game.
  8. Georgia still gonna win aren't they?
  9. Wait. Did you just say IU could put up 500 yards on Bama? Facetious. Every year they put up 500 against everyone (give up 600 and lose most of the time) but always get raped by Wisconsin.
  10. What would the Cubs be giving up? Barney? Don't seem to need Schierholz or pitching prospects
  11. By that u mean by the time 2 minutes and 30 seconds go off the clock?
  12. The annual IU/Wisconsin ass whooping. Can put up 500 yards on Alabama probably, but annually can't do [expletive] against Bucky.
  13. In other news, IU looked amazing last night. And Michigan state almost lost to Colombia, who had 2 shot clock violations in a row in the last 2 minutes.
  14. Villanueva is about the only player of interest I'd be open to trading at this point. Havent seen enough from Soler and Almora to give them up. Baez and Bryant are too good and too close to helping the ML team. Everyone else in the top 10ish prospects is either too far away (Vogelbach) or too close (Alcantara) or valuable as a SP (CJ, PJ). I'd do that trade for Nicolino.
  15. Good post, CCP. That's part of what worries me that they'll just let Cutler walk. The Bears don't want to end up like Pit, NYG, Balt and the other cautionary tales out there of overpaying QBs. Those teams have the luxury of a ring (or 2) to fall back on. But they also are teams that don't have a bunch of young talent anymore. The Ravens already lost everyone. The Giants are going to lose Nicks and soon have to replace aging players on D and the OL. Steelers are also old on D and have drafted poorly in recent years. Emery has been said to have a "moneyball" mentality, so getting a cheaper QB may be the way he's leaning. Paying Cutler 15+ mil when u have 25 other FAs on the roster may not be an ideal situation. A bad defense that is aging or injured at nearly every spot, needs to almost be completely retooled. This has become the worst case scenario of letting your QB remain unsigned. Flacco is obviously the best case, though the Ravens may be paying for that.
  16. Myles Jack is beautiful. What a last few years for true and redshirt freshmen in college football.
  17. Interesting thought I read on another board. Wonder if the Bears are thinking of pulling off another trade for a QB. The usual suspects of Nick Foles (great this year, but is he Chip's guy?), Ryan Mallett, and Kirk Cousins. None of them are as good as Cutler, but none will require a 17mil/year contract just yet. All seem like decent fits for the offense. I think Foles would require a 2nd and more the way he's playing. The other 2 maybe a 3rd and more. If u are going to drafting a QB in one of those rounds, it might make sense.
  18. Yes, the Bears have had a terrible offensive line until this year. Yes, he's had nobody to throw to until this year. Yes, he's doing well now that he has an OL and weapons. But Jay Cutler isn't good enough because he doesn't set his feet! Makes no sense. Cutler's mechanics are the dumbest thing people fret over. Who the F cares? Even if he's throwing INTs off his back foot, who cares? His INTs aren't astronomical or killing the team (though arguable he could have lost both Detroit games due to INTs).
  19. Yeah, the original rumor was "a package the Cubs couldn't resist" I'd think Rendon would be a part of that package. He'd be the best option at 3B and 2B in 2014 for the Cubs.
  20. Reminds me of a story my wife's friend told us. She goes home with a guy and they are doing foreplay. He's lying on the bed, she's face down doing her thing. She knew his pimply faced roommate was home, but didn't realize the door was left slightly ajar (assumed done purposely by her guy). Well, the roommate sneaks in the room and licks her butt. She freaks out, gets dressed and leaves (so she says). She has no idea what the roommate's name is, but runs into him periodically and calls him "the ass licker".
  21. Shouldn't the guy between the ball and the basket, be the guy stopping the ball from getting into said basket?
  22. It's only cool if they play with that chrome ball too.
  23. I'm surprised he still wants to play. Gets the Ravens again next week though so maybe that had something to do with it.
  24. Came for Jets/Bills analysis, that's disgusting Not if the ANALysis is performed by Michelle Tafoya.
