  1. Is Marco Hernandez a switch hitter? I don't think I ever knew that.
  2. I'd rather go after one of the topnfree agents at a position of need like Jairus Byrd or Alteraun Verner. Verner was such a great target before this season. To reference te baseball thread, he was Chase Headley before the breakout season. Now he's been one of the top CBs in the league and will probably get the biggest CB deal of any FA this offseason.
  3. Prince Fielder traded for Ian Kinsler agreed upon.
  4. I don't see Alcantara getting called up before Sept. Seems to be a lot of potential MIF options before you get to him. He doesn't strike me as a guy that's going to completely dominate AAA and force the team to open a spot for him in the majors. Beeler becomes the guy who comes up if there are multiple injuries or trades of starters toward July/August.
  5. Actually looks like they expect Frey to play. Got a cast on it.
  6. Can't afford to lose Frey. Hopefully he can play with some type of glove/cast or something. Oh and Hester making a mistake on offense = him not getting thrown the ball or an INT a good defense could possibly overcome. Hester mistake on defense = guys running free in the secondary. This can't be good.
  7. I think Marshall is either restructured this offseason (given an extra year, maybe 2) or franchised after 2014. Either way, I don't think next year will be his last in Chicago. There's no way they're going to give him a 5-year deal he probably wants/deserves to take him into his age 36 season. No matter what the guaranteed money is.
  8. Notes from Bears practice today: McClellin and Ratliff both did DL drills. Devin Hester worked on drills with Jon Hoke.......yes, Jon Hoke the defensive backs coach.
  9. No. Though, he'd actually save money by signing Graham and going w/ a cheap QB. Then he could let Marshall walk after 2014 and still have a great offense. It wouldn't be a horrible idea.
  10. Fixed for ya. If they're taking a non-first round QB, it should be Aaron Murray, not AJ McCarron. I wasn't going for should. But yeah. Murray, Garropolo, etc. But McCarron's a winner!
  11. Well, the offense is understandably rated highly. Putting up points, putting up yards, not giving up sacks, and for the most part not turning the ball over. Defensively, they do force turnovers better than most teams. Near the league lead in INTs, most forced fumbles by 3-4, even though they have only recovered half. Almost an INT (14) for every TD (15) allowed in the air. And maybe it's me, but I feel like the Bears have either given up a big run (double digits) or stuffed the run within 3 yards. Kind of an all or nothing run D. As bad as the run D has been, the "all" has been there more than the "nothing".
  12. Oh to have the last 2 minutes of the Washington and Detroit home games back. Hell, I'd take the same record and trade a win in one of those for a loss to Baltimore. Really needed Carolina to lose last night.
  13. Man the top 2 vs 2 is really close for me. Id probably rank them Buxton, Baez, Sano, Bryant. But if I knew the Cubs duo would be league average at SS and 3B respectively, I'd take the Cubs duo. As is, its pretty close forme.
  14. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/11/18/report-cutler-to-return-dec-1-at-minnesota/?utm_medium=VPH&utm_source=topvph_sports&utm_campaign=508016
  15. Showed a lot of faith in the defense by not calling the timeout. Basically put it in their hands and forced them to keep Baltimore out of the endzone or lose. I didn't hate the lack of timeouts used. I think that's almost like giving up when u have the lead.
  16. Whoever the NFL Network chick was in Chicago this evening said that the Bears expect Cutler to start in Minnesota.
  17. I want Mannelly back too. That longsnapper is shaky at best. FG/PAT snaps are all high and inside. Punt snaps seem to lack a little velocity.
  18. When did Jennings almost die, because I only remember Steltz brain nearly exploding. Last drive of regulation. Couldn't even tell what happened. The Ravens missed a pass in the back of the end zone and Jennings went face down to the turf.
  19. Ratliff did work on the side (as did McClellin) this week. This was also the week he was targeted for when signed. I'm hoping he and McClellin are good to go. Be a big boost. I'm guessing Briggs out til the Bears get back home.
  20. Also found this on Twitter (not updated for yesterday's game) Tillman has exclusively faced AJ Green, Megatron 2x, Colston. Jennings biggest test was Cruz.
  21. Its really weird without the rules though. IU would potentially face Illinois, Ohio St, Syracuse, then UConn or Minnesota in that bracket.....all teams on the schedule.
  22. Look like he did on that seam pass to Bennett. That was a rocket I didn't think he was capable of.
