  1. Who moves in with a chick at 18-19?
  2. So Alcantara was at SS, Javy joins his team forces him to 2nd. Alcantara is at 2nd, Javy joins his team and forces him to CF while taking his spot in the lineup.
  3. Makes sense. Jackson and Vitters keep hanging on. Szczur is also still on the 40-man. Szczur actually may have a future as a 5th OF. He should get a chance to do some pinch running, defensive replacement stuff in September.
  4. Makes sense. Jackson and Vitters keep hanging on.
  5. Ha. Shows how much he knows. You HAVE had good luck by being snarky and clever!
  6. Maybe 10 days ago. But not when you're talking about a guy they don't even want.
  7. low A is where all the pitching is. Not Tseng, Underwood, or Blackburn. They can have Torrez, but the 2nd piece better be a lot lesser.
  8. Makes sense to me. Was unlucky, now is really lucky. Power difference is interesting though.
  9. His leg kick is probably just a little too high. Calming that down a bit should help his back. I know he's had back issues in the past, so this could be potentially worrisome.
  10. Yeah, he was on the Comcast show the other day and said the only above average player on the defense was Houston. Worst case scenario has to have at least Tim Jennings also as above average. Tillman, Briggs, Allen, and Ratliff were all above average last time they were healthy, which was within the last 2 years.
  11. Your last paragraph is it. Obviously, the prospects are going to get every chance to hold down jobs. But the fact is, Baez has had a good 3 days. Alcantara has had an OK month. Bryant and Soler aren't guaranteed to just carry over their minor league numbers. One of these guys is probably going to fail at some point. Can't go into a season trying to compete with just 7 guys you think are going to be reliable (not counting Catcher). I think you keep both and best case have a loaded bench. I'm sure they can use the "keep everyone fresh" and "not overwhelming the kids" excuses to sit a guy every now and then. Soler may still need a day off a week, since he's never played anything close to 162 games in a season. So, you throw Coghlan or Ruggiano in there. I don't see why Valbuena couldn't play some LF, 2B, and 3B giving time off to Bryant, Soler, and Baez.
  12. I'm working on my top 20-30, and with Baez, Hendricks, and Alcantara graduating, Underwood is probably 12th or so for me. I have him bunched up with Pierce Johnson, Corey Black, and CJ Edwards in a tight race for the 2nd best pitching prospect.
  13. Vogelbach, Schwarber and McKinney all twice. McKinney has gotten on base via hit or walk in all but 2 of his 28 games as a Cub. I really wish they would switch he and Marco Hernandez in the batting order.
  14. While i wouldn't give up a bunch to get Hamels, it would be great to have Hamels, Turner and Castillo before the offseason even begins. Add Soler, and that's a potential competing team with no more moves and Bryant and Russell still in our back pocket.
  15. Daytona going crazy tonight. 14 runs. Vogelbach with his 13th. McKinney with his daily walk and 2 hits.
  16. Didn't even think about that. Could argue have 3 about as good or better.
  17. :P so Hendricks is in the 2015 rotation. Arrieta, Hendricks. Hopefully Turner.
  18. His Slg is almost as high as it could possibly be.
  19. Was that a slider out of the zone?
  20. I don't know if that's good or not.
