  1. Cheating, running up the score, a-hole coach that brushes off opposing coaches and fines players for attending their grandfather's funeral, dirty players that reach in someone's helmet and try to gauge their eyes (Giants game), a-hole players like Harrison and Bruschi that constantly take cheap shots, crybaby Moss, the media talking them off, and yes, a QB that takes beastiality pics and then tries to play the role of one of the "bad boys" of the NFL. Those are probably the main reasons. The media talking them off? I'm not sure what that means. If you mean talking a lot about them, I'm not sure what you expect. They went undefeated. They are probably going to mention them once or twice. The rest of it is hater stuff, really. How does Brady try to be a "bad boy?" Moss has been the farthest thing from a cry baby this year. I don't really see Bruschi taking any cheap shots. lol @ running up the score. This is the NFL. I do hate Harrison, though. He's a dirty player. They are the most entertaining team in the sport. We are watching greatness, people. Let's try to enjoy it. Its from Arrested Development....get your mind in the gutter. I'm pretty sure Tom Brady was quoted as saying he likes having the "bad boy" image. Randy Moss hasn't been a cry baby this year, but I still dislike him for being a crybaby the rest of his career. I think there's plenty of reason to legitimately think Belichick is an a-hole. I'm not saying you have to hate the Patriots, but I think there's pretty decent reasons to dislike them. Yeah, I guess I understand it to an extent. But it just seems so pervasive this year. Like they are the Commie-Nazis and are playing the Captain Americas every week. I don't really remember similar sentiments last year. I think most people hate them because they are good. I know this kind of thing happens a lot but I don't really understand it. Also, I'm a fan of a team that is in no way a rival to the Patriots. I can see how if you were a Colts fan or a Jets fan or something your feelings might be different.

  3. I don't get the Patriots hate. I love watching them. I make sure I catch all their games. Their offense is pretty much unstoppable. The O-line is great, no one has been able to get consistent pressure on Brady. They run great screen plays so frequent blitzing isn't the answer and will likely get you killed. If other teams take away the deep ball, they will dink and dunk you to death. Moroney is rounding into form. I really don't see, from a defensive standpoint, how you can slow them down. You'd have to get consistent pressure from the d-line and to be honest, I don't think there is a team capable of doing that. Maybe if they put the ball on the ground a bunch of times. And let's be serious, cowboy suit goat holding pictures aside, that was among the best quarterbacking performances I have ever seen. How can you stop a team when the quarterback basically completes every pass? He had two incompletions. One was an outright drop and the other, was catchable (would have been a tough one, though). Really entertaining game.
  4. I was pretty surprised that Percy Harvin got caught from behind.
  5. I love this place. Probably been about a dozen times.
  6. Line Drive percentage. Is that a real stat? No, it's a fake stat.
  7. we learned that because aaron rowand is better than kaz matsui, we shouldn't sign fukudome. Fukudome=Japanese Matsui=Japanese Fukudome=Matsui CASE CLOSED
  8. yeah lol both guys are from japanese. prolly the same guy lol
  9. i hate to say it, but maybe the deal is backloaded It could be, but I feel like it would be hard to signifigantly backload a three year contract. I could be wrong, though.
  10. If the Cubs are offering 3/45 it at least puts to bed that the Cubs will not/can not add payroll.
  11. Now this is a man who is giving me what I need. Thanks for doing that.
  12. Lameass joke countdown: Adam Dunn - check Kent Merker - check GEOVANY SOTO - check Steve Stone - check Jim Edmonds - check still awaiting: Neifi Perez David Eckstein Fuku Jose Macias Matt Murton (via MurtonFan presumably) I love the whole, "Put people on this list, but with my approval" shtick. I love the whole, "Me and my buttbuddy IMB! and the other "da lounge" kids are gonna troll every post OMC makes because we know we don't ever get in trouble from the mods" schtick. Stay classy.

This thread has all the excitement of putting things in some kind of order but without all the boring discussion of said rankings.
  14. The timeout did turn out to be a bad idea, but Billick made a good point in the press conference that he'd be roasted had he not called a timeout even though the Ravens had the wrong personnel for what they thought the Pats were going to run. They got lucky on the stop, but the timeout (which was probably the smart thing to do) canceled out that luck. It still doesn't excuse the horrific "holding" penalty the refs handed to the Pats. Saw a replay on SportsCenter where they showed a view from behind the Pats line of the play and the Pats WR did appear to be held after the 5-yard limit. It was holding. possibly, but that type of "holding" occurs on just about every play. I understand where you're coming from here. However, the guy was making contact past 5 yards and Watson was visibly held going into the endzone. Maybe they don't call it every time, but if you are going to make obvious contact with a guy going into the endzone and he's thrown the ball, you run a pretty good chance of picking up a holding call. I'll grant that it was a little ticky tack, but not deserving of all the hair pulling and teeth gnashing that I'm seeing.

  16. Hey look at this, as usual, nobody cares. I dunno, seems like you care.
  17. Packers Fans - Do yourself a favor and stop crying about the refs. It's unbecoming.
  18. You are going to be waiting a long time.
  19. Telling of what? That I'm a violent racist scumbag too? Telling that you actually do respect him as a person. Read into that however you like. I don't have to respect someone to try and mitigate the way their reputation has been exaggerated by time. You think criminal defense attorney's admire the character of their clients? Is someone paying you to defend Ty Cobb's reputation on a message board? That's not the point at all. The point is that you don't have to "respect" or "admire" someone's character when you see something done that you think is wrong. The last refuge of a defeated debater is an Ad hominem attack, to which several people have clearly resorted to in this thread. You haven't defeated anyone here, buddy. Your lawyer example wasn't a good one, which TT kindly pointed out.

I don't have to respect someone to try and mitigate the way their reputation has been exaggerated by time. I think it would be awfully strange to defend a violent racist in your free time, if you didn't admire him to some extent. It'd also be strange to have pictures of him as your avatar and quotes from him under your username, which you have had in the past, if you didn't respect him.

  22. No. You seem to have a lot of excuses for a guy who you don't respect personally. Seems odd.
