  1. Chicago area dudes, it's on in HD on Comcast channel 174.
  2. Anyone? I have Comcast, and have no idea what CSN+ is. I'm not seeing it on the guide anywhere. Ironically, it's on MOJO.
  3. It was crystal clear. Barrett started what he couldn't finish. Z was a complete idiot, but nothing would have happened if Barrett wasn't a hot head who made the first physical move. Z was just very quick to respond. It wasn't crystal clear at all. I also watched the video a lot and saw nothing that I would even remotely consider a lunge from Barrett. Barrett's body weight moved toward Zambrano before Zambrano pushed him. It was clear. He may have not been trying to throw the first punch, but he was trying to initiate contact, and got it. It's funny that everyone sees it differently. When I watch it, I see contact from both of them at the exact same time. You see it that way because that's what happened. I don't see any "lunge" whatsoever.
  4. Nothing makes people madder than strikeouts. It's so funny.
  5. Hey guys, at least my best friend Alfonso Soriano hit a homer to give us the lead.
  6. Blue uni's are the worst thing about you Carlos. Damn you.
  7. This is a pretty great post, TT. except that if you take out any player's best month, his numbers are likely to not look so hot. You didn't get it.
  8. This is a pretty great post, TT.
  9. I think you have to be realistic to know Hester isn't likely to have the mental capacity to be an every-down receiver. Certainly not a #1. The kid is pure instinct, he's perfect for the kick return game. Lovie is convincing himself otherwise because this ballclub has failed to produce or acquire a good receiver. It's not a good sign. Not good at all. It doesn't take genius to be an impact receiver. Jerry Rice may have been the most heady guy out there, but physical gifts are more important than anything else out there. Muhsin's greatest asset was his size and his head, but neither Randy Moss nor TO are dominating through thought. After hearing the Chad Johnson interview on SC last night, I'd like to add his name to the latter category there. We're talking about 2 different things here though. Rice is very smart, vs. a guy like Moss who is average intelligence, maybe slightly below, but still enough to get by. Then there's Hester. I love the kid, but he's far, far below average intelligence. Who really cares? The kid's a star and loving life. But handling defenses, learning the finer details of beating defenders? I just don't see it. He didn't even know the plays last year, after a full offseason of being a receiver. There's an important difference here. A very important one. I don't think he's this dumb, man. He's running in lines. It doesn't get a lot easier than this.
  10. Because you're wrong maybe? Maybe? He's absolutely wrong. It's just an overreaction over a couple of games. We saw the same thing last year when people were convinced that despite the Cubs consistently outscoring their opponents, they were going to continue to lose all season long. We all saw how that turned out. It's hard to remember how long the season is when it just starts. It's a marathon folks, try not to get worked up about a couple of games.
  11. 15-20 is the goal? Doesn't sound like he's going to be overally aggressive.
  12. I think he's probably trying to make as much money as possible. I think people are kidding themselves if you don't think he can get more than 5/25. That's less than Kevin Curtis got last year. That being said, I probably wouldn't go too much higher than that.
  13. That's surprising considering how successful he was in college. Don't listen to Mike Mayock about this one. That guy has a vandetta against McFadden for some reason. I love Mendenhall but if you gave me the choice of either, I'd take McFadden without much thought.
  14. From the Suntimes (Too lazy to link. It's there)
  15. The guard play was pretty bad last year. They weren't the biggest problem, but I'd welcome Faneca. I like both of these moves, btw.
  16. why do you assume arod and pujols are dirty, but manny plays clean? It's probably because he likes Manny but doesn't like Arod and Pujols. It seems to be the modus de jour to accuse all great players that a person doesn't like as being a juicer whether there's any shread of credible proof or not. Pujols goes from a 13th round pick out of some obscure JuCo to the greatest hitter in the game, and Arod's involvement with Boras and talks of "extensive offseason workouts" before the best season of his career, and coincedentally, a new contract are what cause me to be leery. Manny has stayed at a consistent level of offensive greatness his entire career and I've seen little reason to expect it was steroid-aided.' Don't be coy. Just say that Pujols and Arod look more muscley.
  17. The bolded is a load of crap and does not meaningfully contribute to this discussion in any way.
  18. To keep muscles toned and in shape. Bulk doesn't help you with pitching all that much. It's probably a bad thing. Do you see a lot of bulky swimmers? Phelps only weighs 195 pounds and he's 6'4''. Still, it's like James said... I wouldn't cling to this. James prefaced that argument by saying it wasn't likely.

  20. Swimming requires strength. There is no doubt we are bigger people these days, but strength has what to do with throwing a baseball? Roy Oswalt can throw a baseball 95mph and he's a shrimp. Why do you think pitchers take part in strength training regimens currently?
