  1. This. Would have been nice if they could have won on Sunday. Oh well. Hoping for a winning record on the upcoming road trip. At least win on Sunday when I'm in attendance. The Cubs won't win on Sunday. That game is on WGN. The Cubs are 3-0 on CSN and 0-3 on WGN so far.

  3. Board policies won't allow me to post a pic representing that one. Killing me, smalls. Also, Cubs on pace to set WTP record. WTP?
  4. Hey guys. I missed it. Did Cashner leave because of tightness in his shoulder or something?
  5. Is it unlucky when you are only hitting to 1/3 of the field and the defense plays to that 1/3 of the field? Or is it more of a typical outcome? He's just not a single's hitter. What's his AVG every year when you subtract balls that go over the wall? I don't think it's very good. But, that he can hit balls over the wall is why he's probably worth his contract. If you subtract his at-bats that resulted in homers, Pena hit .147 last season. For his career, it would be .189. I think I did the math correctly.
  6. That's two runners Soto has nailed so far today, isn't it?
  7. Except for today, the Cubs have also had the lead in every game they've played.
  8. Surely if he keeps hitting like he has been Quade will move him.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like the wind will be blowing out to left today.
  10. Fearless prediction: Garza's going to hit a double.
  11. Castro! That's what we like to see!
  12. I wish. I'll gladly take another 97-win season.
  13. There we go, Baker! Come on, Castro!
  14. Because the Cubs are incompetent at the plate, so anything short of a perfect game from Zambrano won't be good enough.
  15. According to Gameday, McCutchen climbed into the bleachers and went back a couple rows to catch that ball.
  16. Holy crap. Doumit, McCutchen, and Jones own Z.
  17. The best Onion article ever was the one about PNC Park threatening to leave Pittsburgh unless a better team was fielded.
  18. Well, color me surprised. The Cubs were actually 6-1 against the DBacks last year. They were 2-4 against them in '09 though.
  19. The "experts" are putting the Cubs somewhere around .500 (78 - 85 wins), with more of them predicting just over .500. In the NL Central, that certainly gives you a shot if certain things go your way. So far, the injuries to the other contenders have helped their chances. Hopefully they get off to a fast start with 9 out of their first twelve against the Pirates, DBacks, and Astros. Unfortunately, the Cubs always struggle against the DBacks. They're 30-46 against them all time.
  20. From the way Len is talking, the D'Backs have been getting rather lucky. All 4 hits in the 1st were ground balls that found holes. Now here in the third there were two bloop hits to left. The homer was crushed though.
  21. Looks like game threads are fair game this year. I never saw anything about a rotation. What happened to Laura anyway?
  22. That's it? I really want him to do well, but let's be realistic. He's almost certainly going to have at least several ugly starts. Yeah. I should have said several. Not sure why I said what I did.
