    The Cubs really do not have a legitimate leadoff hitter. You could make a valid argument against whoever Lou puts in the leadoff spot.

    It's against another left-hander so unless Lou changes his mind from earlier in the week Soto is starting. It's also a day game after a night game, and it wouldn't be the first time Lou has said he's going to do something, then stop doing it after a few days.

    Cue the first pitch groundout to the shortstop his first at-bat. ](*,) Cue the double play if Fukudome gets on in front of him. Theriot is hitting into double plays in 20% of his opportunities, good for #15 in baseball among players with 150 or more plate appearances. Well, I had the wrong defender, but I was right on the play.

    He always sounds drunk when I've heard him announce, and whenever I've seen him paired with Chris Berman, it seems like every other word out of his mouth is "Boomer." I didn't see any of last night's game though because of MLB's stupid blackout rules.

    Theriot leading off is worse. Castro hitting eighth is worse than Soto hitting seventh. Soto may be better than Hill, but he's been nothing special lately.

    Today we have a pitcher making his major league debut facing the surprisingly effective Carlos Silva. Since this is Ottavino's debut, he will probably shut down the Cubs, making it that much more unbearable to listen to Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. Go Cubs I guess.

    What I had the MLB.tv window minimized and the crowd reacted to Fukudome's shallow fly out like it was a walkoff grand slam. They're probably already drunk.

    The Cubs are probably going to do something like win 10-2 today just to get our hopes up before returning to being incompetent tomorrow.

    There's a very good chance my spot will come up while I'll be on vacation. I'm leaving on the 16th, and I'll get back on the 25th.
