    I've actually been pleased with Cotts' performance so far this year. Pluse he has that all important World Series experience to boot!

    In addition to a much livlier arm than I expected, what excites me about The Shark is that this guy is a gamer. At ND, you wouldn't think much to just look at the guy, but he always seemed to come up with the best catch when needed. Some athletes just have "it" and I think the Jeff is one of those guys. Now, I'm not predicting stardom or anything, but I sure like the idea of having his competitiveness and live arm out of the pen down the playoff stretch and into October.

    I'm liking my self-declared new season...great comeback win for the Cubs and both the Brewers and the Cards fell....I have a feeling that the Cubs are going to shock people this week (in a good way) and take 3 of 4 in Milwaukee.

    Everything that has happened up until this point doesn't matter, it's only gotten us to where we are: deadlocked with the Brewers and 3 games up on the Cardinals. We have 57 games to prove that we're better than the rest of the teams in the NL (which I really believe we are). We need to play each game like it's our last, and do whatever it takes to get the W. Get the job done, and the Cubs make history...It starts today!

    Brutal game today and what a waste of a for-the-most-part well pitched game. We should score more than 2 runs when you have 15 baserunners.

    Boy, that's not exactly what we were hoping to see from our 3 and 4 hitters...that was pathetic...what a waste of a terrific performance by Harden. Lets go get em tomorrow night.

    Ward has been absolutely worthless this year...the guy looked at a big called strike 3 last Sunday and then can't do anything. Jim, please get us another bat for the bench for the playoff run....

    Just imagine if Jimbo would have kept Josh Hamilton two years ago instead of shipping him off to Cincy for cash to buy a few bags of balls.....WOW! He put on quite a show this evening.

    Ha if it would be at all possible I would take that in a second! On there other hand would you have Fuku playing Center? If so that would be an awful fielding outfield. Would Edmonds and Johnson be off the bench? Who cares what our defense would look like...we'd outscore everyone by 6+ runs a night adding Holliday with Lee, Ram, Soriano, Soto, Fuku, DeRo!

    I'd like Marmol to get some rest, but then again this might be a great boost of confidence for the kid. Get him around the best pitchers in the game and let him learn some things. At most, he's going to pitch an inning after two days of rest and then have another 2 days off.

    Yes. Marquis doesn't like this, however. But his performance likely keeps him in the rotation though.

    to sign with the Bears?!?!?!? My money would be on the Vikings. Boy, would that be a CRUSHING blow to cheeseheads everywhere...that would be beautiful to witness!
