    Great win by the Cubs! Now that's how a real baseball team should play...let's make it two in a row tomorrow with Marquis on the bump. (Editor's note: After the most satisfying win in quite some time, can we discuss the big W instead of Guzman's cramps?)

    Yeah, it wasn't Wuertz's fault It was, but why after all year of Jason pitching well to Barrett did we deside to change things? For the sake of it? We sure could have used Barretts bat. Why did we let Marquis go two whole innings after it was obvious to even Dusty in the booth he had lost it? Why did we let Wuertz, who needed a map, pitch to all those hitters? I guess we built such a big lead we can afford to give games away. How about we blame DeRosa who could have won the game with a simple single...or the entire offense for going dormant after the first two innings. What a typical Cubs game. Man, I really hate this team sometimes. The other team doesn't even beat us, we beat ourselves.

    You don't recall our bullpen with Alfonsucka or Hawkins then?

    I wouldn't be either. There's no way we hold this lead. There will need to be more runs, or we will lose. Wow, that's a great attitude....I think we hold the league with one of the hottest pitchers in baseball on the mound.

    How many games have we just flat out gave away? It's has to be at least 8 games. If we just won half of those we would be in good shape. I don't even know what to say anymore. It's the same thing year after year. That simple fact is what still has me believing that the Cubs will contend this year. Our guys need to learn (quickly) how to put games away when they are right there for the taking, and if we win half of the close ones, we'll be just fine.

    Funny how a team with a worse record and without their best player finds a way to get the job done, while the Cubs continue to blow opportunity after opportunity. We just can't stand success.

    There's no way I'm signing Z during the season. He needs to prove that he is a true ace pitcher before he gets paid like one. If I were Hendry, I'd be looking for a refund on this year's salary.

    Why is Izteris in the lineup today? If he continues with his poor fielding, he has NO value on this team. Meanwhile, the blue-hot hitting T-Riot is on the bench. Why Lou? Come on Carlos, let's see the true nasty Z on the bump today! 3-game consecutive HR streak for Sori?

    Great day for the Cubs! D-Lee is white hot....Soriano is Mr. May and Marquis looks like an all-star for peek's sake. Now, let's come home and sweep the lowly Nationals!

    It may be time to start giving some credit to Hendry for signing the soon to be 6-3 Lilly/Marquis combo, huh? Both have sub 3.00 ERAs and Lilly is 3rd in the NL in strikeouts.
