  1. Last time I checked, our bullpen ERA was at 2.81, which I'm more than happy to live with. Ohman and Eyre have been offset by Demp, Cotts and Wuertz.
  2. Way to go Marquis! I know it's early but Lilly and Marquis have looked like great pick-ups. If they keep their ERAs in the high 3s or low 4s, we'll be in good shape....to go along with Cy Hill.
  3. This team wastes more golden opportunities....
  4. That's an understatement. His ERA is now approaching 2.00. Who would have thought that at the beginning of the season?
  5. At least I have faith that Lou will take care of these problems. He won't defend Cedeno for stupid play. All Cedeno had to do was look in at the plate once to find out he had walked.
  6. 0-1 is much better. He is on the All Star track this year, no doubt. yeah, that's what i said. on that note, i'll leave the game thread to you whiny babies. I don't understand why noone ever calls you out on your constant name calling. What other point were you making with your statement? 0-1 or 0-4 it is all horrible. Murton isn't the reason we lost, but someone needs to tell the guy to take a pitch when he is pinch hitting. It's at least the second time he's swung at the first pitch he's seen after sitting on the bench for 3 hours. How about working the count into your favor for a change? Murt showed good patience in ST, I wonder where it's gone? I can't defend his name-calling here. But seems like a lot of people jumping all over Murton for going 0-1 here. I'd guess abuck's point is that a lot of starters sucked today, so why is Murton taking all the blame? B/c he popped out in a pinch-hit AB at the end of the game? Sounds a lot like the ARod-bashing Yankee fans from last year that a lot of people made fun of around here. Murton isn't the reason the Cubs lost today, he's a very small fraction of the reason we lost.
  7. I hate this flippin team...I really do. We find new ways to lose each and every flippin day....pathetic. I hope Cedeno gets sent down....he's worthless at the plate and not much better on the base pathes. Then again, why would Murton want to take a pitch?
  8. Come on Murt! End this with a long ball
  9. If he walks, isn't a dead ball situation?
  10. And that's only when he shuts out the other team....don't count on any runs from this offensive offense
  11. Nice job! Now, let's get a couple of runs!
  12. Glad to see we got the lead, but was DeRosa's DP play as bad as it sounded on the radio?
  13. Now that's more like it! Great win by the best pitcher in the NL, Rich Hill! Let's go get the Cards tomorrow!
  14. Come on Cubs...it's about time we stage a comeback win, don't you think!
  15. He left with a lead FOR EVERYBODY INFORMATION MURTON IS HIGHLY OVERRATED BY CUB FANS. The cubs are sad. No, this is on Eyre. We had the lead and he couldn't hold it. Typical...we always seem to find new ways to lose games.
  16. I had just gotten done saying that we'll stay out of a DP with T-Riot's speed at the plate...oh well.
  17. Why does this always happen to the Cubs?
  18. Just tuning in...great to see Z helping out the pitching staff by minimizing his pitch count so he can save the bullpen tonight. I'm really starting to wonder if he will be worth the $90M investment---way to inconsistent for a supposed ace.
  19. Naw, I think Friday's meltdown still qualifies.
