  1. We're pretty much screwed if it goes to extra innings. This looks more like the Pirates' lineup than an All-Star team.
  2. AL burning both dominant closers in 1 inning. I'm ok with that.
  3. Surely Marmol or Dempster will have long relief duty, rendering them useless for the start of the 2nd half of the season... but this time it counts!
  4. Surely Marmol or Dempster will have long relief duty, rendering them useless for the start of the 2nd half of the season.
  5. I can't remember the last time I was nervous in an All-Star game.
  6. So is Dempster the extra innings long man tonight? That would suck.
  7. Be careful what you wish for... after all, this is Brian Wilson we're talking about.
  8. No matter how many times I see that reply, I still can't decide whether DeRosa was safe.
  9. So when Eyre comes back, who goes down? Marshall has been very good, and I can't imagine keeping 3 lefties in the pen.
  10. Maybe it's just in my head, but I think he has lost movement. His pitches don't seem to be breaking as sharply as they were early in the season.
  11. I was at that game and didn't realize the magnitude of the craziness of that play until I was able to get home and see it on TV. I do remember it feeling like the play lasted an entire minute.
  12. Not at all. One game does not make or break an All-Star bid. He will either make or not make the team based on the entire season, not one game.I completely disagree. There has to be a cutoff point somewhere, and one game can easily make the difference. His ERA went up half a point and his save percentage dropped, so that can definitely break an All-Star bid.
  13. I think this was a double whammy today... Wood cost the Cubs the game and cost himself a spot on the All Star team.
  14. I bought their first CD and used to like them, until I realized that every song sounds exactly the same.
  15. I had completely forgotten about Kelton. Looking at Wikipedia, it appears he retired in 2006 at the age of 26... sure didn't stick around very long.
  16. When did this happen? I know he struggled for awhile, but has since started pitching better and been promoted to AAA.
  17. With everything I've read about Dempster and how much he loves playing in Chicago, I think he would be a good candidate for a hometown discount.
  18. Yep, I find this to be the case for a good majority of Sox fans. Even when the White Sox are playing well, their fans seem more interested in discrediting the Cubs.
