  1. Let me be the first to call BS on this one. I don't deny that racism still exists, but I can't possibly imagine a racial slur against a 3-year old kid.
  2. So you believe that Bradley taking himself out of the game Thursday and the lineup Saturday was completely due to injury? And someone just made up the story about him getting into an argument with Von Joshua about pinch-hitting?
  3. I have a feeling that if the MLBPA pursues this and more facts come out, Bradley will look even worse than he already does. I seriously doubt that a grievance will be filed.
  4. Is he though? What I've been hearing on the radio this morning is that Bradley took himself out of the lineup not because of an injury, but because he was upset with Lou double-switching him out the day before.
  5. How dare he question his playing time? Suspend that guy for the rest of the season!
  6. Sounded like Miller was messing with Morgan when he suggested 2B. I don't think it had anything to do with the previous story.
  7. :hello: Back to the bench you go tomorrow Fox! Scales, you're in!
  8. Injuries have been a convenient excuse, but this team hasn't played well even when fully healthy.
  9. It sucks that the Cubs are out of the race, but in some ways it makes these games more enjoyable. The past few years have been stressful and I have lived and died with every game, but now I'm able to just sit back and try to enjoy what is left of the season. This has been a fun game to watch.
  10. My Sunday night really needed an extra dose of Jon Miller and Joe Morgan.
  11. The Cubs will still lose this game, but I at least took some enjoyment in watching the Cardinals celebrating on the field and then waved off.
  12. Is he a recent callup for you guys? He's been up for awhile, but used sparingly. He has shown decent stuff at times, but I'm surprised to see him in this situation.
  13. Caridad? Whaaaaaaaaaa? Lou has gone off the rocker.
  14. Now that's smart managing, made even better by the repeated shots of Lou with his book.
  15. What, Cardinals fans boo too??? How dare they!
  16. I really thought Colby Rasmus was the batboy.
  17. Because the Cubs organization is intent on eliminating any value that Marshall may have had going into the season?
  18. Is this a paid or unpaid suspension? If unpaid, will the player's union be getting involved?
  19. I would like to think that Hendry sat down with Bradley much earlier in the season to try to settle him down, but I doubt that ever happened. He waited to do anything until the team was virtually eliminated.
  20. you think those would be his numbers next year? they could be worse for all you or I know. More likely he'd suffer some season ending injury in the first week. they could be. But it's pretty clear that this season's numbers are an anomaly (only 2nd time in last 6 years to OPS under .800). That may be clear to you, but it isn't to me. Why should we assume that an injury-prone player in his 30's will return to his previous form? There's a decent chance that he will, but it isn't out of the question that his best years are behind him.
  21. Well he wasn't producing like he was getting paid for, how about that. Don't bother with that guy. He and the other Bradley defenders will defend him to no end even when his own teammates have now said he's basically an ass. I really wonder about some of the posters on this board. There are some people who look at stats in a vacuum and refuse to consider that anything else could have an impact on the team. Bradley has not been the only problem with the Cubs this year, but refusing to acknowledge that he has been a problem is just ridiculous.
  22. The best thing for the Cubs would be for Bradley to shut his mouth, learn to deal with the fans, and come back next season. Unfortunately, that isn't going to happen. Bradley will either come back and continue to be a distraction, or he will be traded for next to nothing with the Cubs eating most of his salary.
