    exactly, dumb call maybe but that was lee's fault. Its not Lees fault his manager is a [expletive] moron who sent the runners down 5 damn runs in the 1st freaking inning. I'm not arguing the bad manager decision, but how is it not Lee's fault that he took a fastball right down the middle of the plate?

    I was at today's game, which had an announced attendance somewhere around 33,000. With the exception of bad weather and meaningless late September games, it has been years since I've seen Wrigley Field so empty. There were quite a few no-shows on the lower level, and huge sections of open seats in the upper deck. Sure it was a Thursday afternoon game, but I was still surprised to see so many unsold tickets on a nice day against the Dodgers.

    Why is there such a decline in interest here, but not other sites? Where did everyone go?

    When Zambrano returns to the rotation in a week or so, who will go to the bullpen? According to Bruce Levine, Randy Wells is really the only option. I don't see it that way, but if the Cubs send Wells to the bullpen I am going to be very angry. I believe they really need to find a trade for Gorzellany, but they have lost any leverage by announcing that Zambrano is coming back to the rotation.

    Aramis is really killing the Cubs right now, especially with Lou's stubborn insistence on hitting him in the middle of the order. What can they really do? Can the Cubs DL him with the thumb injury and then send him out for a rehab assignment until he figures things out?

    I would be surprised, but pleasantly. I really like Colvin, but I'm still not convinced that he will be a consistent Major League starter. I do like him as a cheap 4th outfielder though.
