  1. At least we got a relief pitcher who may or may not throw submarine, I'm not sure.
  2. There is no way Kyle Tucker is playing for the Cubs next year. Enough precincts are reporting and I can officially make that call.
  3. If the cost of doing business at the deadline continues being what it was this year, and the Cubs are not going to be willing to participate, MAYBE spend a little more money in the offseason to fill holes up front. Spending well under the line of where the budget should be, then not using that financial flexibility when you have a chance to improve a legitimate contender... just doesn't make sense.
  4. I guess he's what Vidal Brujan would be if Vidal Brujan wasn't terrible.
  5. When was this?
  6. Assuming the Padres end up dealing Cease, how much better are they really?
  7. I remember being excited when the Cubs got Kal Daniels.
  8. I wish they would wear them all weekend and not just Saturday.
  9. I'm much less confused by that than when someone refered to the A's as Sacramento earlier.
  10. Does he deserve 500-600 Million? Maybe not. But someone is going to give it to him, and I want him on my team.
  11. Any word on whether his arm was included in the deal?
  12. That seems to have been the case less often in recent years. If we're not hearing about a deal right at the deadline or a few minutes after, it probably isn't happening.
  13. I understand the logic, primarily because of the almost certain innings restriction. If the Cubs were going to have Cade Horton at full strength through the rest of the season and the playoffs, I don't think you really consider trading him for a guy with only 2 more seasons of team control. But when their objective is to go big this year, while also keeping an eye on the future, trading some future years of Horton to have Gore now (and for a couple more years after) becomes a possibility. But if you're considering trading Horton, I can't stomach Horton + Caissie. That is too much.
  14. How many lefties is too many lefties? The answer may very well be, "It doesn't matter" but going into next season with a rotation including Imanaga, Boyd, Steele (hopefully), Gore... That's a lot of lefties. Good pitching is good pitching though, and some of the best available guys just so happen to be left handed.
  15. There is a certain recently DFA'd guy with the initials V.B. who could slight right in!
  16. Nothing the Padres do surprises me.
  17. 27 pitches in the first, so I assume he'll be at like 70 pitches through 5.
