  1. Brett Jackson must be worth at least $10.
  2. I like these Jerseys a lot better than the standard road uniforms.
  3. Can someone explain why we should expect a substantially better return for Garza this year than the Cubs got for Dempster in 2012? Obviously there is a big age difference, but that doesn't matter much in the last year of a deal. Garza has the better "stuff", but Dempster was pitching lights out for most of last season and was less of an injury risk. The only other difference I see from the Cubs standpoint is that they have more leverage with regard to making a tender offer to Garza. They had no intention of bringing Dempster back, but Garza could still have value to them beyond this season. That doesn't make him any better of an option to another team though. I'm a little worried that we're going to go through another month of crazy rumors and near-trades (minus the NTC fiasco) and end up with another underwhelming return. Who wants to talk me off the ledge?
  4. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/clout/chi-tunney-issues-wrigley-demands-20130626,0,994565.story There were some hotel-related demands in the article that didn't sound too outrageous, but I don't think there should be any room for negotiation with regard to the scoreboard and advertising. The Cubs should get what they want regardless of what Tunney says. Appease him with some minor tweaks to the hotel and don't budge on the important parts of the plan.
  5. Are we sure that Boston isn't playing with an extra man, because it sure seems that way.
  6. I thought it was definitely a foul live and then on the replay, there really wasn't much body contact. The block itself was clean. Yeah, the block on the ball was clean, but there was definite body contact.
  7. I agreed with the LeBron/Green no-call and I'm ok with letting Ginobli's drive go, but I think the foul has to be called on Bosh on the last shot. A shooter has absolutely no chance if the refs are going to allow a 6'11" guy to run at and knock him down.
  8. Umm... how is that not a foul?
  9. Amazing play to save the basket there.
  10. I don't know if Parker had time to pass, but it looked like Duncan would have had a great look under the basket on that last play.
  11. Like that...
  12. Just don't give up 3 here.
  13. This Spurs team sure is a resilient bunch.
  14. Certainly looked fine-able to me.
  15. "The headband game"
  16. Are we talking Phoneix Dan Majerle or Miami Dan Majerle?
  17. Boy, that escalated quickly.
  18. Another play where LeBron laid on the floor and complained rather than getting back on defense. Big surprise there.
  19. I completely agree, but the ESPN-led narrative will change quickly if Miami comes back to the win the series. I want Miami to lose so badly to put that argument to rest for awhile... at least until next year when they will once again forget everything that happened in the past and start the argument all over again.
  20. Excellent performance by Crawford tonight, but nothing to show for it.
  21. Yeah, chanting Crawford's name is about as dumb as the requisite "overrated" chant any time a ranked basketball team gets beat.
  22. I realize that Sveum doesn't have a lot of good options, but he repeatedly chooses the worst of the bad options. There are so many people to be mad at here. Epstein, Hoyer, Sveum, Marmol... They are all contributing to losses that simply should not happen to a major league baseball team. Marmol's blown saves may give the Cubs a better draft position by 1 or 2 slots, but at some point this team needs to win the games it should win.
  23. Any further news on this? I hope there wasn't an injury.
  24. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/06/astros-agree-to-terms-with-mark-appel.html With the contracts signed by Appel and Gray, Bryant absolutely must be a significant underslot.
