  1. Not this year and probably not next year either. Check back in 2016.
  2. So, Rose is hurt again... *Sigh*
  3. Yeah, that's what I'm actually leaning towards; seems like he has a real shot of sliding in to that manager spot there pretty soon. That's what people thought about him in Tampa too. With how many times he has been passed over, or not even a candidate for, managerial jobs, there must be something missing that is preventing him from making that leap. I'm beginning to think that he may just be a bench coach lifer. Is it possible he banged someones wife... I'm sure he wouldn't be the first or last manager to have done that.

  5. Make the call.
  6. They have to "come together, period" Yep, that should fix it. Good plan.
  7. More hard-hitting analysis from David Diehl please.
  8. Let me get this straight. Did the Bears really just decline a penalty rather than take a chance at returning a kick?
  9. That is still implying some wrongdoing by the Cubs. Unless something can be proven, it doesn't seem right to single the Cubs out, especially when that is probably Martinez' best chance for another job. If the Rays have any respect for what Martinez has done for them, and I assume they do, they won't impose any restrictions on his future employment.
  10. I'm not sure what that would accomplish. It doesn't do them any good to keep a disgruntled bench coach around.
  11. Martinez is still technically under contract, but I can't imagine the rays are going to hold him to that after passing him over
  12. Parking garages I know people always mention parking garages, but can that area really handle the increase in gameday traffic that would presumably result from parking garage use? Right now, I would guess that a majority of people park in remote lots, which helps to disperse the traffic. What if a bunch of those people were heading down Clark or Addison instead to get into a parking garage?
  13. My understanding was that the recovery needs to be a continuation of the play and not just an afterthought to pick the ball up because nobody else has.
  14. According to Jesse Rogers, Baseball Tonight will also be broadcasting live from Wrigley on Opening Night. I'm already trying to figure out how we can wrap up our family obligations on Easter Sunday in time to get to the game.
  15. That is awesome. Has the Cubs home opener ever been a night game?
  16. What a fitting headline in the Trib: I read the article and I honestly have no idea what Derrick is trying to say half the time. This quote was particularly enlightening. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/basketball/bulls/chi-bulls-rose-i-was-just-being-myself-20141113-story.html
  17. Would we have to offer him some sort of "promotion" to get him here since he's under contract in Tampa? Like he'd have to be "President of Bench Operations?" Or can we flat out hire him on for the same position even if he's under contract right now? I think the assumption is that Tampa Bay would let him out of his contract if he doesn't get the managerial job.
  18. There is probably nothing to the tampering allegations, but statements like this are still scary as hell.
  19. Did anyone catch the false (mainly off-screen) clap by the Chevy guy? I have re-watched it about 5 times now and it gets funnier every time.
  20. doesn't help that they are talking like they are at a funeral In all fairness, Bud Selig has been dead for years.
  21. What an anticlimactic trophy presentation.
  22. 5+ months until more baseball. Time to hibernate...
  23. I want to trade all our hitters for pitchers so we can get someone to do this. No need. Kyle Hendricks.
  24. Not that it really matters, but I'm second guessing myself whether this is even a save situation. Since the starter didn't go 5 innings, would Affeldt get the win and Bumgarner the save? Or would Bumgarner simply get the win? Scorer's discretion. In that case, give him the win and the save.
