  1. I had almost forgotten about this stupid runner on second base rule. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  2. Why did Lester come out after only 62 pitches? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  3. Coming up on 3 hours and the game is still in the 6th inning. How's that game time initiative coming along? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  4. That depends. Do we also get to replace Bryant with a replacement level player? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  5. I just saw the replay of Chapman's pitch for the first time. He should be suspended for 15+ games. That pitch could have killed someone. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  6. Who had Heyward, Happ, and Schwarber in the preseason "best hitter" pool? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  7. That's one way to lose. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  8. If the season just ends, what change are they actually affecting? And what can the league possibly do to convince the players to change their minds? I can't reconcile what the right course of action is, and what the endgame is for this scenario. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  9. It is going to put the Cubs in a really interesting situation if nobody in the "core" performs well enough to justify a big contract. Bryant and Baez are both trending the wrong way, while Schwarber is pretty much just holding steady as a solid player who hasn't developed into the elite hitter they hoped for. It might just come down to, out of that group, who is willing to accept a somewhat team-friendly deal in exchange for long term security.
  10. Apparently my 3 year old son is a fan of that episode, because "MALK" is how he pronounces it.
  11. Going by this year's statistics, it would be difficult to find enough guys who are objectively worse. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  12. Happ grounded into a double play. That happens, but Kipnis absolutely had to put the ball in play there. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  13. I agree. That seemed to be a case of "we think he was probably out, so let's overturn it." Again, that shouldn't be the intent of replay. Correct the obvious errors and let the rest stand... That's pretty simple. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  14. GIDP number 13 for Javy this year. At least it feels that way. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  15. He was never good, but he has regressed to a complete liability on the roster. They might as well replace him with a speedster. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  16. I have 2 full season tickets all to myself, ever since my brother decided to give up his half a few years ago. If anyone is seriously interested in a share, I'm sure we could work something out starting with next season. I can't make it to nearly as many games as I would like, and it is lot of work (mainly for my wife) to get rid of all the extras on Facebook/StubHub.
  17. Bote is a better offensive and defensive option at 3B than Kris Bryant. Discuss. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  18. Are we having fun yet? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  19. I enjoyed Grace in the booth during Spring Training. Part of it was that he was there in person, but a bigger part was that Spring Training baseball lends itself more to guys just telling random stories with the game itself being largely irrelevant. He is just too much of a distraction for regular season games when the product on the field matters. It kills the flow of the broadcast. There is a time and place for "some" of his stories, but he is inserting them at the wrong time and the wrong place. There is a physical disconnect with him participating remotely, but even more significant is the emotional disconnect he has from everything around the current Cubs team. It feels like random sportscaster X telling stories that have nothing to do with the game. Sure, it would probably work a little better if he could be there in person, but not enough to actually make the broadcast better. Grace was my favorite Cubs player and I was excited to hear that he was being brought back into the organization, but it is time to rethink that role and try to find somewhere else to fit him in.
  20. He took the walk and the ump called it a strike. After that, all bets were off and he had to protect. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  21. Real nice AB be Hoerner. Oh well. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  22. Just awful. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
  23. Can we get Castellanos back? This is looking like the same dead ass lineup we saw most of last year. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk
