    Ryan has been good, but it sucks that Cubs relievers have to constantly nibble off the edges of the strike zone. Time and again, we see opposing batters foul off pitches until they either walk or the pitcher makes a mistake.

    I'm trying to be optimistic, but at this point I think it is extremely unlikely that the Brewers don't make the playoffs. With the Cubs and Cardinals playing each other 7 times, and the Brewers playing garbage teams, they are going to pass one if not both teams.

    Based on what we have seen so far, I'm perfectly ok with him as a cheap #8 hitter playing 2B. Spend money somewhere else.

    Quintana. As much as he drives me crazy, he drives me slightly less insane than Hamels, who they can launch into the sun come playoff time.

    I don't get the guys spinning this like it is bad news. It really sucks to lose Rizzo, but after seeing the injury occur yesterday, this seems to be about the best possible news so far. Even a chance of Rizzo being back for the start of the playoffs is more than I would have allowed for yesterday.

    If anything the injuries will make Theo want to run it back and just change out Joe and do margin moves. Joe and injuries will be the big blame. That is a legitimate concern, but Theo is smarter than that.
