    Is that going to be the new normal with contractually obligated days off? Heck, there was one game where Boog was off and he was at the ballpark hanging out in a box.

    Heyward isn't going anywhere, but I'm ok with him taking all Happ's at bats.

    One of my biggest Cubs disappointments this season has been Boog Sciambi. He has been fine overall and the Cubs could certainly have done much worse, but he isn't the elite broadcaster that I expected. Where Len Kasper grew on me over time, Sciambi has gone the other direction. The more I hear him, the less impressed I am. I'm sure the inconsistency in the booth hasn't helped, so maybe things will improve over time. He still just feels like generic national announcer guy doing games. He has done an adequate job, maybe even above average, but I expected so much more.

    A little bittersweet here at Wrigley seeing Bryzzo go back to back for possibly the last time.

    If he tweaked something, he wouldn't be out there. I think it's probably just overuse and a bit of arm fatigue. He needs 2-3 days off and then hopefully he'll be fine.

    He didn't pitch on Monday. Second straight day. Before yesterday, he pitched on Saturday. I stand corrected. I have no idea why I thought he did.

    And would you look at that I mean, that inning turned to what it did because of a swinging bunt combined with an error that put a runner on second. I’m not putting that one on Ross. Right. That wasn't a "Hendricks was out of gas" result. I wouldn't have sent him back out, but I'm not going to blame Ross for what happened.

    Well, that was unexpected. Kimbrel was filthy again. What are realistic expectations for his trade returns? Better than the Cubs gave up for Aroldis in 2016?

    Germans love David Hasselhoff, and Ian Happ is really bad at baseball.

    Excellent start - The Cubs fail to get a runner in from 3B with less than 2 outs. I love watching Javy play. Flip a coin between him and Hendricks for my favorite Cub. But from a pure baseball standpoint, I don't see how the Cubs can justify giving him anything resembling a big, long term contract.

    Sutcliffe really is convinced that this game is make or break for the entire season. That seems like a really odd take for someone who actually played in MLB and knows what a 162 game season is like.

    Ian Happ is a terrible baseball player.

    I just assumed this was an extended All-Star break for JD. But in general, it is getting annoying with the number of games that one or the other broadcaster is gone.

    That really wasn't as good of a catch in LF as they are making it out to be.

    This, and the extra innings runner rule likely going away with it, just made my day. Managers are going to have some adjusting to do next year, trying not to burn their entire bullpen in 10 innings.
