  1. 39! How very sad. Godspeed...
  2. Well played.
  3. The score reported that as well. btw - a mod needs to movie this in Transactions.
  4. As long as his arm is fine. It's all good.
  5. I'd be happy to just save him for the last two months of the season.
  6. So what the latest on the BR trade? Last I heard it was Cedeno, Pie, Hoff, Hill, and Theriot.
  7. Get a girl bro...
  8. Just crank it up to 200 million and be done with it.
  9. I think Indians underachieved. That's about it. You thought the TIgers would be worse than the Royals? What are tonight's lotto numbers? Missed the Tigers. Indians and Tigers underachieved.
  10. I can only pray it doesn't. A lot these are players are streches to repeat there years, Zambrano and Harden are huge health risks. A team with this high of a payroll and we get two no shows in the playoffs two years in a row, Heads should be rolling. I suggest you take a look at Joe Sheehan's article at Baseball Prospectus. The respected Sheehan says the Cubs and their fans should not lose sight of the fact that they had the best team in the NL and that nothing needs to be torn down. Joe further states that the Cubs became a victim of matchups in the NLDS. That happens in baseball. Heads should be rolling? Whose? You have a large number of players with long-term contracts and several of those with no-trade clauses. Zambrano may indeed be a health risk but he signed a multiyear contract extension for $91.5 million. This team needs some fixing. It doesn't need an overhaul. Agreed. I do want a lefty power stick.
  11. I think Indians underachieved. That's about it.
  12. 2004 hurt you more then 2003? Seriously? That was such a miserable team that by the end I didn't even care.
  13. That had nothing to do with what happened on Thursday.
  14. It's having the resources. Nothing magic about it.
  15. That BS is getting real tiresome for me, wait till next season' playoffs when we'll read and hear crap about how despite being the best team in the 2008 NL they couldn't manage a playoff win, etc. There have been more than 1 team with the best record who lost in the 1st round. Funny how we don't hear anything about those clubs right now. I believe the Braves in '03, when we bounced them. Weren't the Randy Johnson Stros also tops in the NL? I don't think it's all that unusual, yet you would think it's never happened before. I think the way we lost is pretty unusual. We didn't even win a game. How many team with the best record in their league got swept? Does it matter. Would it be any less of a kick in the nuts if they lost in 5? FTR, either 1 or 2 best teams in the league have been swept before. And as I mentioned elsewhere, teams with better records have losing records in divisional serieses. Same with teams with HFA. Does for me. At least we gave ourselves a chance to beat them. Grabbing our ankles like the way we did is flat out embarrassing.
  16. If CC is looking for the most money nobody's going to outbid the Yanks.

  18. Yea, it's funny how now everyone knew that the cubs were going to get swept in the 1st round.
  19. I agree it's not the best idea but if you can start getting younger in the OF with a pre-arbitration guy, that'd be a great start. If you're still talking Hermida, I'd be interested in your take on his awful year in 2008. What I'm hearing is that Hendry will be looking for someone from the left side that can produce 30+ HR and 100+ RBI to put between Ramirez + Lee. Adam Dunn fits that bill.
  20. ANSWER No. Would you move him down the line-up then? No, I'm not a fan of making quick, rash changes. Who would you lead off? Roberts? I keep hearing Jimbo's still pushing for him. O's aren't going to trade him. I just read this Morning that they are trying to sign him to a new deal. At least I thought I read this Morning. Somewhere?
  21. Yea, 1984 still tops my list. In order: 1984 2003 2008 The rest of them didn't bother me as much.
  22. First 90-win season since 1992, first playoff appearance since 1982, a great deal of attention from the national media for much of the year, two starters in the All-Star Game, and Ned Yost is gone. Looks like a successful year to me. ;) Really, the Brewers played like the token "Happy to be here" team. It would've been nice to see them win more than one game, but most of the games were fairly close and the pitching staff was in shambles. Gallardo pitched nicely in Game 1 but was hurt by the 3 unearned runs, Sabathia ran out of gas, and they missed Sheets in the rotation dearly -- if he pitches, Suppan doesn't have to start yesterday and the Brewers may have had a better chance at winning. The offense did sputter out, though, which was disappointing to see. So yeah, it may be sad and pathetic, but I'm happy with the way this season went. No doubt it was a successful Brewers season. So what's your rotation next year without Sheets and CC?
