Players will do what's best for them regardless. He's not going to okay a trade that benefits the ownership and not himself. Players never think that way. No, but he could veto a trade that doesn't benefit him enough. We have been hearing lately that whatever team trades for Peavy may have to pick up that option year and make it guaranteed, which could then inspire those teams requesting Peavy's services to offer up less for Peavy. His contract isn't below market anymore if that final year becomes guaranteed. Will the Braves still be willing to offer up their latest package if it means they have to guarantee that final year?
