Wow!

    Everybody hates NSBB. We're pretty full of ourselves. No its not that. We are just the biggest and most popular Cubs message board on the internet. Like all popular things, its cool to hate us. Yeah it is. There's about a half dozen posters on this board who are too full of themselves and give the forum a bad name. Yea, Meph is a real dick. What your language and don't attack other posters. You know better than that. It was supposed to be a joke. I guess the green font would've helped.

    This quote in the article scares the Howry out of me. If Dempster somehow signs elsewhere the "contingency plan" had better be Derek Lowe, AJ Burnett, or get a deal done for Peavy at all costs. Signing Randy Johnson to a one year deal is not a contingency plan. No way we are going to outbid NY for Lowe or Burnett. I agree. But, assuming they get CC, they aren't going to be able to get every decent starter on the market. If they don't get CC, then yes, that makes Hendry's job a whole lot harder. I think they are going after CC and Burnett and/or Lowe. Don't forget they are getting 80 million off the books and a new stadium. They have a ton of cash to burn.

    What was lost in doing that? Respect. He basically said to every other GM out there that he can be jerked around for months and you won't lose him Like how Beane jerked him around over Harden? Or did Jim just bowl him over with his exorbitant offer that Beane had to say yes? And Beinfest's puppet in Florida? He's not the best GM out there, but I highly doubt he's not respected by players and other GM's.

    Well this whole thing is just stupid. Wood would've accepted a 1 year deal? Should've never made the trade and signed Wood. This team makes no sense.
