  1. Perhaps you are right, but I personally don't see how it matters because the only advantage Helton's team could gain from his testimony would be that Bradley is suspended...which doesn't matter because Bradley is out for the season already with his injury. The question isn't how the Padres respond to it. It's how the umpires respond. He sides with the umps, and maybe they get some preferential treatment. He sides against them, and they may attempt to find retribution.
  2. Lilly and it isn't even close, to me. Just for giggles... WARP3 scores. Ramirez - 9.4 Soriano - 8.5 Lee - 8.3 Zambrano - 7.1 Lilly - 5.9 While Lilly has been a slightly more effective pitcher, don't forget that Z has thrown a few more innings, fields the position better, and hits significantly better.
  3. Aramis is the MVP, followed fairly closely by Lee and Soriano, then Lilly and Zambrano.
  4. I always take the regular season crown, and I always crap out in the first round of the playoffs. This year though, I've broken the cycle. I managed to squeeze a tie in the first round on a pinch hit by Pujols in the last game on Sunday, and the tiebreaker went to me since I was in first place. I'm just crossing my fingers for the championship now.
  5. His 90th percentile PECOTA forecast: .292/.392/.550
  6. .305/.403/.537 That'd only make him the best hitter on our team this year. Yeah, it's a real good thing we didn't pick him up. He wouldn't have been better than the crap we've had from CF or RF a good chunk of this season. Lee and Aramis both have him beat in batting. Lee has the same on base percentage. Bradley numbers are lower then this because his Oakland numbers. He often hurt and is a jerk. EqA: DLee - .297 Aramis - .300 Bradley - .286 with OAK, .334 with SD (where he has approx 2/3 of his PT) This season, Bradley has been a better hitter, even including his Oakland numbers (which are nothing to scoff at). Yeah, he's been injured a good chunk of the season, but putting him in CF when Jacque was performing so badly would have been worth quite a few wins, or in right when Floyd had forgotten how to hit for power. He may be an asshat, but he's a very valuable one.

  8. If I had seen this the second it was posted, I would have been getting in my car and driving the three hours... but alas, it was not to be.
  9. This sucks.
  10. I'm getting up and trying to nab the 4 best available seats I can. Another buddy is getting up and trying to get whatever he can get his hands on. If all goes well, he sells his tickets on stubhub, and we split the cash and get paid to sit in some nice seats.
  11. We'd be stupid to not even explore the option. Depending on what he's willing to sign for, he could be an absolutely fantastic addition. It would essentially require playing Pie everyday Bonds is in the lineup, just to cover the spare ground... but that's not really a bad thing either.
  12. Dear God... this game has been fantastic. Ups, downs, Geovany Soto.
  13. DLee grounds to short. Sanchez muffs the throw from Kata trying to turn the DP. Runners on 1st and 2nd, one out.
  14. Yeah weis. Just search for the player and then click on the dropdown box for his splits.
  15. Eyre has a sub 1.00 ERA in the 2nd half.
  16. I think Lou was just more concerned with bringing in a right handed bat. And Cedeno is the best one we have on the bench today (except for maybe Kendall... and we're not about to use him this early.)
  17. Maholm out, Franquelis Osoria in.
