    If you're the starter, you go again, if you lose, you rejoin the line at the bottom. I'd have to look at the standings, but I think that soccer10K spot-started a thread for someone. If a thread isn't up by midnight on a weekend, anyone can spot-start it for whoever is supposed to start it.

    I think it should cause a commotion that Mr. Cub thinks that the Cubs are for sale; that he could do a better job running them than the current regime; and that he no doubt had a hand in making this gambit for ownership public. Music to my ears. I wouldn't support him buying the Cubs without knowing more about his ownership philosophy ... but that's not even the point. Mr. Cub seems to believe the Cubs are for sale.

    It's impossible to know, really, because Banks has been just been a PR guy as far as Cubs fans are concerned. I'd suspect that same thing that you do, though. This Trib-owned ship is sinking fast and it's really hard to say that the current payroll justifies the results that the Trib-owned Cubs have accrued since '81-82 whenever they bought the Cubs. Something is rotten in Cubdom, and ownership may have to change to eradicate the stink.

    It also gets Maddux to 138 career Cub wins, moving him into 10th place on the Cubs win list. He's ahead of John Clarkson at 137 and behind Big Bill Lee (not the Spaceman) at 139.

    yes he was activated for the game today. Thanks! Please take some pics and give us some scouting reports on Atkins and Veal! :D I'm definitely planning on it!

    According to the box, Juan Mateo pitched 3 innings tonight (5 hits, 1R, 1ER, 1BB/1K, 1HR). Is this is his first start since being activated? I'm hoping it was a pitch count issue vs a not feeling well issue. :D I'll be starting a new job in 10 days, so I'll finally be able to make it to Peoria more often.

    Daytona: RHP Justin Berg (4-4, 4.50 ERA) vs RHP Jose Sanchez (5-3, 4.01 ERA) St Lucie is leading 5-2 in the 5th. Daytona SS Danny Gonzalez has been charged with 3 fielding errors. Peoria: RHP Mitch Atkins (4-1, 1.94 ERA) vs. Matthew Kniginyzky (6-2, 3.12 ERA) No score in the first.

    LF..Dusty and his damn double switches I hate that guy Thanks. :x They have Bynum listed in LF in the boxscore, but said in the inning update that he was playing SS.

    Prior lost his two Peoria rehabs. I think Peoria won Wood's first start and Iowa lost his second.

    Peoria down 4-2 in the 5th; The Don's allowed 4R/3ER with 5Ks / 0!BB thus far. I'm getting occasional bad static on the audio ... sounds like Nathan has a constant reverb going.

    Hunton walks the leadoff hitter ---> tying run at 3rd with one out. :o Tying run scores on a sac fly; an IBB'd batter tags and advances to 2nd with 2 outs. Free baseball in Jupiter!

    Daytona taking a 3-2 lead into the 9th. Gallagher! :D - 7IPs, 7H, 7Ks (all swinging), 2BB (both full counts), 2R/2ER Harvey is actually starting to hit a bit - 2/4 tonight with 2 doubles (thrown out at 3rd on trying to stretch one into a triple). He gets a mention in the FSL Notebook's Daytona section: Jupiter's two errors led to 2 unearned runs, the difference so far. Layden pitched a scoreless 8th; Hunton now in for the save.
