  1. He already has a bandwagon thread!
  2. With the win tonight, Peoria's magic number for clinching a first-half playoff spot is 3!
  3. I'd be a week off if that happened - I thought Gallagher would be like Marmol and Marshall last year and get promoted after the FSL All-Star game. Hill with his 4th K through 2.1 innings, Iowa leads it 2-0. The Iowa broadcast crew are talking about the country of Bhutan. Don't ask me why. I think that's what they mean. The all-star game is next Saturday (the 17th). He could start the last game before the AS break, but they may flip someone into that spot so he'd be available for the AS game.
  4. In the post-game show for Daytona, they're talking about how Marmol and Marshall both were promoted to AA last year right after the FSL All-Star game. Zisk told them when the game ended. They're wondering when Gallagher will be promoted; Ingram believes that tonight will turn out to be his last start in a Daytona uniform.
  5. Excellent! Nathan's pre-game interviews are also online now: http://www.peoriachiefs.com/pagebank/?id=1086
  6. Sorry, Pete, fixed now.
  7. Two infield singles and a walk load the bases with no outs in the bottom of the 7th. A sac fly scores a run and all the runners advance. :( A sac fly scores another run, but Daytona gets the DP by trapping a runner between 2nd and 3rd. 2-0 St Lucie to the 8th. The bottom pretty much falls out in the 8th. St Lucie now leading 5-0 ... 7-0 ...
  8. Yay! They showed Z smacking himself upside his head.
  9. Daytona loads the bases in the top of the 7th with 2 outs, but can't get a run home. Still scoreless after 6.5. Gallagher done for the night: 6IPs, 4H, 0R, 6K/3BB, HBP, WP, 7GO/5FO. Oh, and a 100mph fastball. Hunton in for the bottom half of the inning.
  10. Gallagher with a bit of wildness in the 6th. Walks the leadoff hitter, but Harvey comes in with a nice catch in RF and a 9-3 putout on the DP! :) Daytona broadcasters marveling at his arm. :-k Gallagher walks the next batter, then hits someone in the back with a breaking ball. Bails himself out with a K to end the inning. Some very nice defensive plays tonight by Daytona. Matt Craig has the sole Daytona hit so far. No score through 6.
  11. Sam Fuld gets to go to the All-Star game after all as a replacement for someone on the Jupiter Hammerheads who was promoted. Congrats to Fuld!
  12. I didn't, the tv is in a different room. Spill the beans! As he walked back to the dugout, he started hitting himself in the head with his right hand, then pointing to his brain while screaming and cussing at himself. I believe he was trying to kill his brain. ha ha, I can picture it from that description
  13. I didn't, the tv is in a different room. Spill the beans!
  14. Um...some one should get that radar gun checked. Heh. He has been throwing pretty consistently at 93ish which the announcers seem to think is close to reality.
  15. Gallagher just rang up a 100mph reading on the scoreboard gun. Good pitching matchup in the Daytona game. No score after 3, St. Lucie SP Devaney has yet to allow a baserunner.
  16. Many of the pros who make their living scouting and publishing their reports didn't think he was the 13th best player available. It's great that you choose to have full faith and confidence in the Cubs front office and the Cubs player development system. Not everyone chooses to share that confidence ... which is their perogative. Surprisingly, not everyone on the internet agrees with each other on everything.
  17. Done! I inserted you after ndistops, since that's where you spot-started. I appreciate it when people spot-start the threads, especially since I've had a crazy work schedule over the past few months and usually am not around for the end of night games. The game thread forum has been around for a couple of years now, and we know how everyone's schedule changes a lot with vacations etc once summer really kicks off.
  18. Yes, but fortunately Uber was here to continue his streak. If someone knows they might be late but will start the thread, they can just post here ahead of time and we'll try to respect that (especially if there's a win streak at stake).
  19. The way the Cubs have dealt with Wood over the past two seasons has been completely stupid. That they were even considering a 4-man rotation with Wood in it recently ticks me off. Now we'll hear whispers and murmerings about what a wimp Wood is and how he hates the Cubs yadda yadda yadda.
  20. No kidding. apples and oranges Ernie saying he wants to buy the Cubs = greater likelihood that the Cubs might be sold, regardless of who ends up buying them
  21. For that matter, how do you post a like to your own blog in your signature area? I've started a Cub blog that I think people might find interesting. If you're a regular member (non-premium), select "profile" from the menu on the top of the page. Scroll down to "signature." Use the url tags and put the link in between them. Submit.
