  1. Could be. I am just guessing but I think the number is 7. He loses playoff time, so the league does not appear to be lenient. I doubt the league really cares about appearing lenient. Every decision they make seems lenient to someone. Even 7 would be fine if they were able to appeal it back to 5 games.
  2. So a trade for an impact player is still a possibility? Say someone like Jimmy Graham?
  3. Did it ever get explained what #4 did to get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty?
  4. Probably not.
  5. Soler Baez Ross Do you want another two infielders instead? LaStella and ?? Think we'd do better for a PH bat from an OFer. Also, one of our outfielders is going to catch sometimes. Yeah, David's last sentence is the selling point. With Ross and Schwarber, you have two back ups at C. With Baez and LaStella, you have two guys backing up the infield. With Soler and probably Victorino, you have 2 guys backing up the outfield. That Bryant, Zobrist and Baez can all play outfield as well doesn't force a 5th outfielder, but there is certainly room on the roster for 5 bats, so why not?
  6. No. It's $8 mil this year and $9 mil next year if both sides opt in and $5 mil if either side opts out. So at most we have him for $17 mil the next two years and the least it's $13 mil for this year. If I understand Rogers tweets correctly. Wasn't the Orioles rumor 3/35m? He left a lot of money on the table to come back if that's the case.
  7. This is amazing. Much happiness!
  8. And that sorry excuse of a human being, Talib.
  9. DeMarcus Ware didn't play in that game against the Bears. HUGE difference.
  10. Usual Suspects for me. Primal Fear is another one that comes to mind that could have made the list, but certainly doesn't top Usual Suspects, Fight Club or The Game.
  11. It would be nice if Hoyer didn't have the same initials as Hendry. It distracted my reading enjoyment.
  12. Maybe they just passed notes back and forth to each other last year.
  13. Why does he want to get rid of the tailgating? That seems like a really weird reason to refuse to work with the city to get a brand new stadium. That's only part of it. But, the people tailgaiting are eating and drinking their own food for hours before the game, which is revenue they feel they are losing in concessions. ETA: Oops. Responded to a notification that I received, not noticing that Goony already responded with the same answer. Actually like Goony's response better since he included the ridiculous prices that they charge in the stadium.
  14. I don't think they are hitting Russell there because he hasn't managed to hit himself out of that spot yet. They like him there, which is actually a compliment to Russell. It adds a 3rd bat to set the table for the best hitters in the line up. Getting the pitcher's spot further away from when the #3 and #4 hitters hit is valuable to production.
  15. So he waits it out a full year and jumps at the very last chance? NFL gave Spanos until March of '17 to make a commitment. The next year will be very interesting to watch unfold.
  16. Spanos is playing nice with San Diego to screw the Raiders and San Diego. The Raiders don't have a place to play. If the Chargers announce LA, they will have to be the 4th team playing out of the Coliseum next year along with Rams, UCLA and USC. That's a scheduling nightmare, and it won't really be all that popular for the Chargers since they will be out of their market and 4th in popularity at that location. If they announce LA, the Raiders will move to San Diego immediately because Qualcomm is still inhabitable. The Chargers don't want that third team in SoCal because it hurts their share of the market long term. They will only be leasing in LA, so they are only renters with no home of their own. Spanos is probably just going to spin the team once they get to LA next year. San Diego isn't being fooled by Spanos. He's only making nice in hopes that people buy tickets to games. He's definitely out of here unless the city ponies up for a stadium, which they have yet to do before the threat to LA was real. This has been crazy to watch unfold. If Spanos was willing to let a new stadium be built in the parking lot of Qualcomm, the chances of getting some city backing could happen. But, he's absolutely standing his ground that he wants a downtown stadium because he wants tailgaiting to go away, which is a huge tradition in this town.
  17. I'm formerly Peoria. That's all the representin' it needs! But, loved listening to Brickhouse. Geez I'm old. Peoria to San Diego? [expletive] that's one hell of an upgrade. Yeah. I'm still diggin' it.

  19. When playing in money leagues, which is what I do, do you all have veto powers on trades or do you let league management allow all trades regardless of how one sided they might seem?
  20. Might as well make it an official welcome, especially so we don't have to continue using GR as a name reference. Jeff is taking over Robert's NC Cubs team. With that out of the way, commence newbie attacks.......... Now! :clapping: :yahoo:
  21. Normally, abandoned teams are replaced by now. Rosters are supposed to be pared down and everyone's money is supposed to be in the commissioner's hands as we venture into a new fantasy baseball season. Any rule changes should be getting discussed now along with just getting familiarized with our teams and the available talent pools and draft orders once again. Robert hasn't been replaced. DeShawn and Chuck's levels of participation have been disappointing. Don had expressed interest in moving on. A few other managers are in jeopardy of not having their rosters pared down or their fees paid in on time. Is trimming the league size a better idea than trying to find last minute managers to replace the non active managers? And if it is, there is probably a lot to discuss in how to go about doing this.

    The DL

This has been brought up before, but is anyone opposed to increasing the amount of DL spots? Is this something that needs to wait until this season is over, or can we consider increasing it now? The juggling act I'm performing right now is becoming a real pain in the ass. One more DL guy, and there won't be anyone I wish to drop to get 7 starts for the week. Part of my bench has become DL players. Dropped a guy I didn't really want to drop because my DL is full. If we did implement more DL spots, we might need to discuss how to prevent every DL guy in the free agent pool from becoming extra storage on some team's DL, because that is not what the addition of more DL spots would be designed for. With the current group of sissies playing this game, 6 DL spots might not be enough.
  23. What should we do here? We were all very patient as he held up round after round of the draft to make his pick. While he got better about managing his pitching starts, he doesn't appear to be making the necessary roster moves to make his team legal. He currently has guys on the DL in his starting line up, and guys who have been off the DL for a few weeks now that are still on his DL. The commitment of a few minutes each week just isn't there, and I don't think it's asking all that much to make sure your line up is legal and competitive each week. I can certainly understand and respect if he's so busy that he just doesn't have time to manage his team, but if that's the case, maybe someone else can take over the team until he has the time to dedicate to managing the team once again. This has been an ongoing problem for a while now. Thoughts?
