  1. Either I'm missing something, or you don't know how a Ponzi scheme works. Maybe he thinks it's stupid to invest your money in anything. Maybe he's a coffee can in the back 40 kind of guy.
  2. These people aren't broke, they are just temporarily unable to access their money. He's still loaded.
  3. http://www.yanks-abroad.com/get.php?mode=content&id=4421 Xerez's coach is not looking to upset the apple cart. They've won 5 in a row and he doesn't want to unsettle the lineup by playing Jozy. What's the verdict on this? When guys like Jozy & Freddy don't get tick is because they aren't as good as we think or is there really some bad coaches out there on their European teams who don't see what we see? In the Deuce situation, it's become clear that Hodgson was just flat out wrong to keep Clint benched the tail end of last season and the beginning of this one. His inclusion in the side has led to Fulham to be in contention for Europe. That's not all on Clint, but along with Hengeland and Simon Davies, he's been their best player. He's definitely their most creative and versatile. He's played in the CAM, both wings and at forward. Michael Bradley has been in the same situation with Marcco Marin and Baumjohann at Monchengladbach. We obviously don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but I've seen enough to know that on a team that needs to score more goals, Freddy Adu has a role to contribute. On a team that is in the second division, Jozy Altidore will be your best striker. I don't think I'm being too much of a homer when I say, these two managers are making a mistake just as Hodgson was.
  4. Round 3. Fantastic.
  5. Lol, Lisbon has to win 6-0 at the Allianz to advance. Awesome. Btw, this dominance by the Premiership is really starting to get annoying. All four are going through.
  6. That loan deal is dead. You have to have serious heart and talent to win over Ruminegge and Hoeness. I think they'd buy him in a second for around 5-6 million, but MLS want at least 12 million. Not gonna happen. He hasn't flopped, but he just hasn't taken the opportunity by the throat, and that's what he needed to do to win over the management family. Landon's attitude is just the antithesis of Ruminegge and Beckenbauer. He needs to go to a club like Everton or Villarreal. Good, but not in the spotlight or such serious executives.
  7. 3-0 Bayern in the 70th. That's 3 away goals. Landon not even on the bench.
  8. I think you're getting me wrong here. I don't want them to tank and miss the playoffs purposely, I just think them making the playoffs does nothing. I could care less. Too many of them could become contributors, that's the problem. None of them you can build around, which is why playoffs for this team does nothing. See there's our difference. I wouldn't have fun with their playoff run. Contenders are fun. Playoff filler isn't to me. I see a better chance for improvement with a top 12 pick than I see with playoff experience. It's negligible, but that's just how I see it.
  9. That's what I'm talking about.
  10. As opposed to giving minutes to a bad old guy who can't develop and will struggle? Huh? Cheap money. Our existing expiring contracts are already enough to hand out two max contracts. Also, shedding payroll is easy and doesn't have to be at the expense of a rookie contract. You know who tried that tactic? The Suns. Now they don't have Rudy Fernandez, Rajon Rondo and other players they could have and their future sucks. Great idea. Again, as opposed to a lightly regarded old guy who brings zero to the future. What? So Nocioni, Hinrich, Deng, Gordon etc would be worse if we hadn't made the playoffs? No. It overvalued them to Bulls management though. All you people constantly whine about Pax and Reinsdorf loving their guys, and this is a big reason why. Rose gets playoff experience that means nothing because of who is coaching him and who he plays with. Good luck proving that. Bad is bad. Good is good. Most GM's understand that already. Huh? NBA players want to play somewhere they get the most money they can. Chicago is a great city, the Bulls and Jordan's legacy (which I am dubious to your assertion that players give an s) don't change if the Bulls are an 8 seed this year. That will still be in tact. Not important, but still in tact.
  11. Tigers are way cooler anyway.
  12. What does this even mean? Paper lion means something looks better than it actually is. We had a handful of playoff teams under Skiles that weren't actually anything good or anything worth building around, yet because of their success, Paxson has held on to players like Hinrich and Deng not just as bit pieces but as building blocks. It's easy to forget, but we shouldn't have Derrick Rose. We should have someone in the 8-10 range of that draft. How screwed would we be without Rose? We'd have nothing for now or the future. Making the playoffs this year accomplishes nothing, because there are maybe 2 or 3 players on this squad that are going to be on a contending Bulls team in 3-4 years. All it does is mess with your draft position and fool you into signing meh players for more money than they are worth. It's a metaphor. Insert large, carnivorous animal here.
  13. Paper lion playoff teams are the reason we have Luol Deng on 70 mil, Kirk Hinrich on 42 and no Skiles. I'm not interested.
  14. I like their position. I don't think Roma has what it takes to win by two or more, especially with Fabregas coming back.
  15. Inter needed it today to have a hope. Deuce scores today to send Fulham to the FA Cup quarterfinals.
  16. Anderson? I'm starting to regret my picks. I don't think I'm gonna win a vespa. Atletico Barca Arsenal Man U Real Madrid Juventus Villarreal Bayern I'm starting to wish I'd picked Roma and Inter. I have to get 6 of 8 right to advance.
  17. BAH 2-1 Cologne at the Allianz. Observations: Lukas Podolski was out of form and should not have started, especially against the team he loves and was bought by. F him. Lucio needs to not miss games. DiMichelis is lost without him. Klose's goal early on that was disallowed was a goal. In fact, it's mystifying that it was disallowed. I have no idea what the call was. It was a great header. Should have been 2-2. Landon Donovan is lost where Klinssmann is playing him. He is playing way too high. He needs to be withdrawn so he can pick the ball up, turn and run at the defense. Putting him up top with Klose is [expletive]. It's how Klinssmann always plays his strikers and because of it he relies too heavily on Ribery and Schweinstager to create from the wings. When they are shut out, which has been their last two opponents obvious game plan, they lose. Bayern aren't going to buy Landon. Nor should they. He's good enough to play with the team, but they haven't seen it because of the way Klinssmann has played him. I hope he goes somewhere like Everton or Tottenham with a good manager that will know how to use him.
  18. LeBron is the answer to every question that starts with "Who's hands do you want the ball in if..."
  19. Me too. TT knows how much of a Jordan homer I am. I don't know if he'll win 6, but he is good good good good good good great.
  20. Sign LeBron? Seriously though, I think we could contend after 2010 with Rose Joe Johnson Deng Bosh/Amare/Boozer Noah B - Thomas, Hinrich, Salmons, depth.
  21. That team could contend, but I'd put my money on the Cleveland/New York LeBrons, whichever it is. You have some seriously high expectation for Rose. Chris Paul has had some of the best seasons ever for a point guard in the last three years and what's his team done? It's hard to win championship built around point guards. You need depth, a good system/coach, defense and studs to run with.
  22. Absolutely not as long as LeBron is in the east. That's no better than any Magic team with Howard either. That team is a 3-6 seed that loses in the second round.
  23. One time I was at a restaurant in Chi and they had a framed MJ autographed rookie card on the wall. I just stared and stared and tried to think of a way to steal it.
