  1. http://theoffsiderules.blogspot.com/ If you don't want to get hyped for this game, don't watch the videos on this site.
  2. http://deadspin.com/5151446/alomar-update-smoking-gun-has-the-full-complaint More details.
  3. http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/0aggfO50afeGD/610x.jpg I'm so psyched. Between the three cups of coffee I've drank, the Mexicans who stand around all day by my work who I make sure see the jersey every time I walk/drive by and pictures of the team preparing, I'm already watching the clock.
  4. This makes me think that the Suns are doing a stupid knee jerk thing here. Amare doesn't play defense, especially within Porter's system, so they don't want Aldridge who is similar. Instead they want a worse player in TT (presumably) who plays monster d. They are throwing the baby out with the bath water. I'm not a Suns fan and I generally dislike Phx sports fans, but I kind of liked going to see a good basketball team a few times a year. I don't think this is going to work out well for them.
  5. Beyond the rape, there were rampant rumors of his bisexuality. He sounds like a monumental a hole (having sex with aids), but I can't help but feel sorry for him.
  6. I learned from Paul Shirley's book that Sarver is an idiot. He isn't changing my opinion.
  7. Robinho vs Italy yesterday - this goal looks like a teenager playing with kids. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ti9zpU4WOH0
  8. I don't understand why everyone is concerned about the Celtics? Age will take them down in the next couple of years. The answer is no of course, but it's obviously not that simple. It's extremely difficult to build a championship team around a point guard who can't single-handedly win a game for you by scoring. You have to surround him with pieces. The question should be, is a complimentary lineup of Gordon, Deng, Stoudemire and Noah better than a lineup of Gordon, Deng, Thomas and Noah. Of course it is.
  9. Congrats, Vance. Here's a little something special I picked out for you: http://www.wwtdd.com/post.phtml?pk=18961
  10. Steve Kerr is a compulsive trader.
  11. Lets get some perspective on Tyrus and Noah's little hot streak here. In the last 6 games, they have played well, but the teams they have played have been complete garbage. Phoenix - Noah did nothing, Shaq threw him around like a rag doll all night and Stoudemire couldn't have been less interested in guarding Tyrus. Sacramento - Jason Thompson and John Salmon, that says it all. Clippers - Al Thornton and Brian Skinner, says it all. New Orleans - Hilton Armstrong and David West. Houston - Yao destroyed Noah. Dallas - they play no D. So the obvious point here is, yeah it's cool they've been playing well but it's been a tiny sample size against bad players on bad teams. Basically individual defense is often overrated and a motivated, happy Stoudemire is still better than Thomas and Noah combined.
  12. It's hard to build a good NBA team. The draft is often a crap shoot, free agency is only slightly less a crap shoot and for the most part the only players that ever get traded are crap. Occasionally you'll get the star who hates it where he is and you can get him, but that is rare. The one thing that is certain, being a borderline playoff team and picking after the 10 spot is NBA hell and will get you nowhere.
  13. No GOL TV, eh? It was an ok game. Subotic did a good job shutting down Klose until the 86th when he put two in before the end. Landon came on in the 70th for Toni and much like last game, put himself in good positions but never got a chance to do anything. Almost assisted on the go ahead goal but Altintop somehow put it into the 30th row despite being 10 feet out from goal.
  14. There's no way the Heat are in on Amare. That is out of nowhere. 1) They aren't going to trade Beasley. That would be [expletive]. 2) The reason Marion demanded a trade is because he and Amare hate each other and Marion wanted to make more than him.
  15. I think they'd take Durant.
  16. NAME 45 THEN. Jk, I'm drinky but I think factoring in his potential, recent play and lazy guesstimating, I stand by top 45 ish +/- 20.
  17. Amar'e is a top 15 player. Tyrus is top 45ish.
  18. I need to be clear in saying I love Amar'e, think he'd be a great fit with Rose but just don't think he is a top 10 player. He's close and he could be with some effort and inspiration, but he isn't right now.
  19. I don't know about that. Actually what I mean to say is that I do know about that. It's wrong.
  20. I don't know about that.
  21. I'm not saying he should be a deal breaker, I said I wouldn't trade him for Amare Stoudemire. While T2 isn't Amare offensively, the same can be said about Amare not being T2 defensively. In fact defensively, Amare is Eddy Curry esque. For a team that really can't play defense, I prefer not to trade the one guy who can actually defend, rebound, and block shots. Gimme a better option then Amare and I would approve (not that my approval means a thing) of moving Thomas. You gotta be kidding me... Let's see here Amar'e Stoudemire's resume NBA All-Star: 2005, 2007, 2008,2009 All-NBA First Team: 2007 All-NBA Second Team: 2005, 2008 NBA All-Rookie First Team: 2003 NBA Rookie of the Year: 2003 NBA All-Star Rookie Challenge MVP: 2004 Tyrus Thomas' resume ..... That has to be one of the funniest things I have ever read....rofl... I'm telling you, the "Deng is a deal breaker in a Kobe deal" from last season are much, much funnier.
  22. Hinrich plays a part in the resurgence. I'd still trade him for a valuable asset at another position.
  23. Miro Klose is unlikely for Bayern, so odds are we could see Donovan starting vs Subotic and Dortmund.
  24. This. Remember what most of you people were saying when Deng and players for Kobe was being bantered.
  25. Let me tell you, I was at the Bulls game here last Saturday and he was non-existent. I've never seen a less interested basketball player. I'd love him on the Bulls, but he has some major, major flaws in his game. No d and we still don't have a center. He also takes minutes from Tyrus.
