  1. Salt Lake is whiteyville. I'm thinking about going to Azteca this year. Anyone ever done it?
  2. If it's Salt Lake, I'm a drivin.
  3. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2008/12/toronto-fc-deals-for-derosario.html DeRosario to Toronto for a draft pick and lots of allocation money. I like this trade because A) I love DeRo and think he'll be great in his hometown, B) Stuart Holden is going to take his role in the attacking mid fold, C) frees up room for a DP on Houston and D) Toronto's great fans could have an awesome, dynamic team next year with Guevara, DeRo, Wynne, Robinson and whoever they sign with their DP slot.
  4. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2008/12/morning-ticker-.html Parkhurst transfer is complete, Juande Ramos can't get it done at Tottenham so hey, let's give him a shot at the biggest club in the world! Why not? and Man City continues to posture for the January window.
  5. http://www.nba.com/media/bulls/schedule_0809.pdf Every WGN* with the asterisk is the national broadcast. thanks. seems like it used to be very Saturday night, but maybe i'm "misremembering" No, I think you're right. As a fellow out of marketer, I've been annoyed by this too.

  8. Getafe was organized beautifully defending until the 80th. Kind of fell apart from there. Great finish for Rossi on the equalizer, but I don't think he did enough to warrant Terra player of the game or whatever that bush award they give is. Should have gone to the Getafe keeper. Jozy was more active than Rossi, but I felt he could have done better. The chance on the header that led to the first goal was a nice finish, just a better save. He had a sitter that went past him at the back post. I guess he thought Rossi was going to take it on the front post, but he should have scored. The cross from Rossi in extra time was less clear. I don't know if he could have gotten there and stayed onside. He drew a foul in the box that wasn't called too. Oh well. He looked strong and everyone on Villarreal could have done better. Until the 80th, no one looked good. He and Rossi got no service.
  9. Chealsea would have won the double. Anyone with GOL TV needs to tune in asap. The Jersey connection is starting up top for Villarreal.

  11. Jozy started and played 77 for Villarreal this weekend. I didn't see it, but apparently he impressed. http://blog.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/
  12. Because I think he's going to New York with LeBron. Bosh is a way, way better two-way player though, you're right. In fairness to reality, I have a hard time seeing Phoenix letting Amare go anyway. I think Amare will be dying to leave in a couple of years. Why? Shaq, Nash, Hill will all be a year older next year. They won't win a first round series this year. Won't make the playoffs next year. He'll be dying to leave. They'll give him a max contract and he is already established (owns a restaurant & multiple residences) in a great town with a great climate. I'd be surprised if he was "dying" to leave. He's got enough ego to think they can build around him and win relatively quickly.

  14. http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_by_ives/2008/11/jaqua-leads-seattles-10-expansion-draft-picks.html Not a bad start. Btw, Seattle's uniforms are absolutely brutal.

In fairness to reality, I have a hard time seeing Phoenix letting Amare go anyway. Also, the one game a year when he returned to Phoenix in a Bulls uniform would absolutely become one of the highlights of my year. This is the depth of my loathing for Phoenix sports fans.

  17. I don't want Wade. When healthy I truly believe he is right there with Kobe as number two, but he needs the ball too much to be effective. Same with Rose. Given age, ability, money, etc; I'd rather Rose be that guy with the ball in his hands on every play. Ideally you'd clear as much space as possible then sign Amare, Butler and try to convince Chandler to come back, but that'd never happen.
  18. This is the truest thing written about the Bulls all year.
  19. I'd love to be Mayor, Governor, Congressmen, etc but I would never want to dedicate myself to the process. If it was a political appointment, I'd be in.
  20. Bayern is through.
  21. But then there were handsome, genius people like me who said bollocks to your need-filling philosophy. We knew then as we know now, one of those guys is transcendent while one is merely very good. Forza Rose.
  22. Some solid names unprotected on the expansion list. My XI ----------------Hartman----------------- Ianni-----Talley------Wahl-----Barrett Gaven---Magee---Kovalenko---Flores ------------Razov------Jaqua-----------
  23. The Galaxy don't have an ugly system, but the lack of talent is pretty gross. You're right though, Osorio does not have an attractive system. Schellotto is a master.
  24. Holy hell, that Confed's cup group is sweet. Bradley has already said the Confed Cup will be the full team and the Gold Cup will be a B squad, so when we get potentially zero points in the group (Egypt is actually very, very good), maybe it'll bring a reality check to the team before the World Cup. We could have used that dose of reality in 06. Worst case scenario, the other teams don't take it seriously, we do well and come into the World Cup thinking we are the s again.
  25. Isn't Gooch better than Ligue 1 though? Honestly? I think so. Here are the MLS rules changes. I approve of them all. http://the-touchline.blogspot.com/
