    They do look a fair amount like those velcro-adjustible Nike fashion caps... Not to worry, though, next year or in 2012 they'll introduce a new BP jersey design that everyone hates and by 2013, they'll have changed the BP hat design again and we can rail against that. :thumbsup:

    Quicker, one would think, given that the Astros are owned by an individual (rather than a big corporation as the Cubs were) and the Astros aren't part of any bankruptcy at the moment. It only took... what, a few months? to sell the Rangers, and that was with their owner dealing with financial issues.

    I'm aware of that. Had the Cubs elected to forego finding a center fielder in free agency and go with your proposed Johnson/Fuld platoon, do you believe they would have been able to get Johnson to return for less than his $3 mil 2009 salary? Or, conversely, when Reed signs elsewhere, do you believe he will do so for less than that?

    Reed wouldn't have made any less than the $3 million he made in 2009 had the Cubs elected to retain him.
