  1. Radio Highlights http://i141.photobucket.com/albums/r71/bcvm22/sigzeon/cubsterbanner.png The calls of the 2010 season as brought to you by Pat Hughes ("This ball's got a chaaaance..."), Ron Santo ("OH GOSH!"), Judd Sirott (...) and the occasional Dave Otto ("You gotta be some kinda strong...") on WGN Radio 720 AM. Continually updated as the season rolls on. All MP3s are direct from the MLB.com At Bat with Gameday Audio online radio feed (an excellent value if you don't already have it; home and road team radio feeds for every game, pre-, regular and postseason for only $20 flat), recorded and mixed with Audacity and tagged with iTunes. Please preemptively forgive any rough edits you might come across; I know there are a few scattered across these MP3s. All highlights are tagged with album art, the date, the score and a brief summary matching those found here (viewable in an iTunes playlist by selecting View > View Options and checking the "Comment" checkbox or by right-clicking the track, selecting Get Info and viewing the Info tab, or in Windows Media Player by right-clicking the track, selecting Properties and viewing the Content tab). April 8, 2010 - Cubs 2, Braves 0 Tyler Colvin and Marlon Byrd go deep, Randy Wells pitches six shutout innings and Carlos Marmol shuts the door as the Cubs blank the Braves in Atlanta for their first win of the 2010 season. April 12, 2010 - Cubs 9, Brewers 5 The Cubs celebrate the 2010 home opener in style and defeat the Brewers behind home runs from Xavier Nady, Jeff Baker and Aramis Ramirez and a game-ending double play from Carlos Marmol. April 14, 2010 - Cubs 7, Brewers 6 Down by three in the 8th inning, the Cubs fight back and take the lead on two-run singles from Ryan Theriot and Kosuke Fukudome, followed by a perfect inning of pure fury from Carlos Marmol as they complete the comeback and defeat the Brewers at Wrigley. April 16, 2010 - Cubs 7, Astros 2 The Cubs use a six-run 7th inning, capped by a three-run homer by Derrek Lee, to plow past the Astros at Wrigley. April 26, 2010 - Cubs 4, Nationals 3 Aramis Ramirez gets it done with patience, taking a bases-loaded walk in the 10th inning to defeat the Nationals and send the Wrigley Field faithful home happy. May 7, 2010 - Cubs 14, Reds 7 Young phenom Starlin Castro has a night to remember as he homers, triples and drives in a record six runs in his major league debut, Marlon Byrd and Mike Fontenot also go deep, and the Cubs romp against the Reds in Cincinnati. May 17, 2010 - Cubs 4, Rockies 2 Slogging through an extended and uncharacteristic slump, Aramis Ramirez launches a walkoff home run deep into the night as the Cubs defeat the Rockies in dramatic fashion. 3. Difficult to beat the look of the onfield cap if you don't mind the high crown. Stylish, sweat-absorbent and plenty of room inside for when you're heading out but your hair's doing all blaaaaah 'cuz you were taking a nap beforehand. I always liked this model, particularly in the summer. Stretch-fit, with a mesh back that lets your head breathe a bit. I'm also always partial to that particular angry bear-face logo. One's opinions of the aesthetics aside, the previous and current batting practice hats are good for the same reason, minus the mesh back. I have found they make my head itch after a prolonged period of wear, though. And finally, nothing says "day in the sun" like the old standby, the Cubs bucket hat. Light, comfortable and great at keeping the sun off of your face and neck.
  4. He really did. That's pretty good for April. I think he realizes this team isn't that good. I miss the days when goings-on in the booth meant victorious radio calls and not Ron having coronaries.
  5. Caridad. LOL still applies, though. Timely choice, Lou.
  6. How the [expletive] do you throw him anything in that spot?
  7. The official roster has Marlon Byrd switching from no. 24 to no. 15, but that makes no sense on a number of levels. Typo or odd decision? We'll find out.
  8. Chris Bosh out indefinitely with fractures to his jaw and cheek.
  9. Out indefinitely with a facial fracture. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NBA&hl=134442&id=930
  10. I'll try and catch it later. Could someone provide me with the inning and half?
  11. Does it count as a fake rally in the 3rd inning?
  12. I changed my mind, can we count this as the last spring training game and open on Wednesday?
  13. If you're going to go by Opening Day W-L, it's not as if Z lost on Opening Day '08.
