    Sorry for not being visible much lately. If everyone is still interested i'll start up the league asap :) Our only problem is we didnt post rosters from last year so we might have a hard time choosing which players to 'protect' for this year's league...

    I have a couple hundred million sitting around so i'm in as a buyer if the Cubs go up for sale. My first act as owner would be to fire MacPhail, Hendry and Dusty and replace them with NSBB members.

    I recently read the following in a book and I thought it might be a good idea to apply it to the Cubs as an organization and see what we can learn from it: Rules number 4 and 5 especially struck me since it seems like it's getting harder and harder for the Cubs to win it all as each year passes and we all know about the PAIN. Reading #5, I'm hard-pressed to decide whether the actions of this organization have changed or not. With the rebuilding of the farm system and the recent influx of cash to the payroll, i honestly thought that things have changed. Am I wrong?

    Some more factors to consider are: 1) MLB teams might not have good access to stats for young Central/South American players and so not much fodder for their Sabermetric scouts to chew on. 2) Most of the scouts sent to Latin America are of the traditional background and thus looks for players with traditional talents (i.e. toolsy guys).

    Apparently someone has been reading this because on the Cubs.com depth chart, Todd is #1 at 2B.

    It's not 20 games but Kenny Rogers was 18-9 with a 4.76 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP for Texas in 2004. OUCH! I'd say that's very mediocre.
